I finally had my appointment with a doctor who can prescribe spiro. I now have a month's supply. Just need to do bloodwork to establish baseline levels and then I can start the next phase my my journey.

Good for you! Get ready to pee, pee, pee! Drink lots of water as the Spironolactone will dehydrate you.

Agreed, Jorja, and this is certainly my experience. Also, if you let the dehydration go too far, you WILL have dizziness problems.

Are you just getting Spiro and no corresponding Estrogen?

I think the first couple of days are an education in trying to drink more water. I thought I had upped my amount enough predicting that I would dehydrate. I still went through 3 days of leg cramps. One time my feet cramped so bad, I couldn't walk on them and had to weather it out while sitting down. I usually am able to walk it off. That has all settled down and now it is the decreased endurance. Time to up the exercise! It is probably a little different for each of us.

But get used to having a water bottle with you everywhere. I get laughs at work as I walk into offices I had just left and ask if they have seen my pacifier.

Yes. The standard treatment here seems to be Spiro to get testosterone down first (well, at least suppress the action of testosterone... spiro blocks the receptors, not the production.) Once that seems to be going well, estrogen comes next. I'm OK with that; I'd rather take it a step at a time. I'm 99.9% sure I want to transition, but if the changes due to spiro make me realize it's not what I want, at least the spiro effects are reversible.

it does both.

Moisturizing lip balm is another good investment. Early on I would have terrible problems with my lips cracking. Also start avoiding potassium rich foods like bananas
