Quick question, I'm new on here and this is the most public Nikki's been. I've always been very careful and never been caught (although a couple of close calls). Not that I'm concerned but it got me to wondering If any girls on here accidentally outed themselves to their SO or family by not clearing histories, etc.

I have read several threads over the years about getting caught for a variety of things from computer history, panties lost under the bed, makeup left out, mascara on the eyes after cleaning the face and many, many more reasons. If you are not out yet, prepare your excuses in advance and then later test them be listening to them and ask yourself "did that sound true and make sense, or did it just raise more questions or suspicions.

A lot of browsers have an "incognito" mode, so you don't have to worry about forgetting to clear your history later. There is no history to clear!

Nikki,
I recently did a Google search for "Linda Stockings". Not surprisingly, there are lots of women, and maybe men, using that name in heavy to light porn. I should have thought better back when I used it here, but I didn't give it much thought. Today and yesterday I searched that name with an association of several terms commonly used in the realm of crossdressing, transgender, transitioning, and the internet name of this site. Each of those searches brought up everything from my picture, my profile, dates, locations, etc. Now, to be fair this site has warnings in various places telling us that by participating, there is a certain amount of risk of being exposed. My picture was taken long enough ago that I really can't look that good anymore. My GG friend who helped with with my makeup, hair, and outfit that day has passed away. I have worked with computer technology since 1977. If someone REALLY wants to find sensitive information on almost anyone, THEY CAN. If they have to, they can hack into the records of any website and harvest any information they want. I think that usually the most guilty are primary after our financial information and associated identity. That's how they can steal some big bucks. But there are creeps around who get off on exposing us. I really do not know all the reasons why.

If your privacy is important to you, beware and take whatever action that may help preserve that privacy.

Hopefully the moderators and technical staff will update an assessment of our vulnerability and help increase the things we can do to protect our privacy. LET'S TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY - BECAUSE IT IS!
Linda

my x-girl had a hunch and decided to invade my computer back in like 2002....she found what she was looking for, we broke up eventually cause of my dressing. I could care less about it now, and glad it happened actually.

You can hide all you like... But is that the answer to being truly happy? I outed myself over two years ago actually on the internet, can't really delete that history "Why" because it is my history!
Its me and what and who I am... Stand tall, stand proud and have pride in yourself and your own happiness :)

I usually take particular care in matters of security.

No, my wife knows and supports me. And if anyone else were to find out, then they must deal with it.

I don't care. People just have to look at me to know I'm wearing women's clothes. I should be concerned that someone might recognize me here? If they did I would certainly have to wonder what they were doing here. And judging from my browser ads the bra industry already knows ;)

It wasn't so much that I was concerned about outing myself on here, Im quite careful and my SO is a bit slow when it comes to technology (not sure she even knows what a browser history is) It was just a general question.

As to hiding and standing tall, If Iam not mistaken there are all types of different girls on here at all different stages, in all sorts of different situations, some with SO's or families who are supporting and understand, some with SO's who are not, some who need to live out to everyone, some who are happy living with their little secret. Everyone is different i can't begin to understand everyone's situation but I respect there choices, in or out and think no more or less of them for it. For me I love my life and the role Nikki plays in it and the fact she is our little secret. I love my wife but she would not understand or ever want to meet Nikki, nor would I want her too, it would destroy her, my family, my marriage, my life.

I haven't yet. Although, I don't have a picture on here, yet. Honestly, I'm starting to care less and less about being discovered. I'm single and live alone, so no issues as far as browsing history or anything like that.

I have a separate lap top for Algoma and always have in private mode, set so no cookies or history is saved. Takes longer to get to sites but trying my best to keep my computer use private. I am more concerned about Big Brother, google, etc, sending Algoma links and stuff.

My wife knows, though my kids do not yet. However, should this site cause exposure of this side of me to them or anyone else, well, so be it. People are going to find out eventually anyway...probably by just running into me out and dressed. Lol. Frankly it might even be a good thing.
