I heard this on the show Swamp People, ya know where they catch them thar gators.

"No one can choose who they are related to but you can choose your family"

Who knew such wisdom was to be found in the swamps.

Sometimes the family we are born into can be a blessing and other times a curse but more often than not it is a mixture of both.

It can be very difficult to break free of the bonds we make or are born into.

I'm reading a book called Solitude by Anthony Storr which I would recommend for anyone that is or has transitioned.

There is a lonelines that transpeople are born into that is unshakable except through transitioning but this loneliness makes transitioning difficult from the very effects of having been born into it.

The very things we need to transition are the things we are robbed of by the circumstances of our birth. It is no wonder that many only do it when their death is staring them in the face.

Remember Rachel, this is the same show that made "Choot em, choot em" famous. I tell people when they ask I just live in LA, I'm originally from NC, I just live where they talk like that.

LOL, I think that was Liz that said that.

I'm from Mississippi and I have had the privilege of knowing a few Cajuns. I have to say that the Cajuns are a very tight knit community and don't take to people they do not know very easily. But; if you are able to break through that barrier, you are one of the family no matter what. If you need help with something, someone will always be there even if it puts them out a little bit in some way. They also know that if you can, they can count on you in return some day.

IMO, there needs to be a lot more communities much like that all over this world of ours.
