It looks like the combination of Spiro and biotin is producing hair growth in all the RIGHT places! I now have a proceeding hairline! They are still fine clear hairs, but! It's more than I had before! This is one of two things I have been super self conscious about. (The other being my mannish jawline). So! One down, one to go!!

Congrats on the new hairs..... Love your "recipe". It'll be a while before I'm at that stage.
Jaw line? Looks fine to me. While jaw implants have been an option that I've researched, it's another item that's just not in the cards for me..... yet. JMHO....

I was trying to figure out your picture, Aly Cat. Is that a peach? :)

Hmmm, I saw a youtube video in the last couple of days where a transwoman said biotin made her hair grow everywhere, so she stopped taking it. But I have to wonder if she took it pre- or post-op. She may not have been on Spiro.
Do you have male pattern baldness? I do, so I wear hats almost all the time. I don't really want to do that or take Propecia (due to widely publicized side effect warnings). I am on Spiro currently and have no plans for SRS, as I at this time want to remain a non-op.

Hahaha Jorja, it certainly is peach fuzz!
Ann, I do have male pattern baldness too. Mine is the big M in the front. It makes me super self conscious, but to know that it is growing back makes me unbelievably happy. I am very pre-op having only been on hormones just shy of 3 months. I have not noticed any additional hair on my body from the biotin, in fact, quite the opposite. My arm and leg hair take much longer to grow now. I shaved them on Sunday and today is Friday and I only have minimal growth. I could probably go another couple of days without shaving, but I'm one of those ladies who enjoys being silky smooth. My chest and stomach have almost completely stopped growing hair, but that is from the laser hair removal. It is doing a fine job. My face is a bit more resilient, but it's getting there. The hair on my face is clear, but stubbly. It's more noticeable to the touch than it is to the eyes. I can go about 3 days without shaving my face before it becomes visually noticeable. I can't wait till it's all gone for good! Well, all but my head hair of course!

Thanks for the reply, Aly! You've had laser, so that's may be why no growth elsewhere. I'm saving up for a Tria (home laser hair removal, which runs around $450), so I think I'll at least do that before starting on Biotin. I'm also just into hormones - am on my 7th month now. Biotin sounds so promising!

Ann- Just remember a Tria is impulse light, so the visible hair will fall out, but it does not kill the follicle, and a new hair starts growing right away. It's a good temporary measure like waxing.

Yeah, I was looking at the Tria as well and decided against it. I decided to take a more professional approach and am glad I did. The results are very promising. For the same cost as a Tria, I got 7 sessions for my full face, full neck, full chest from the shoulders down, and full stomach from my sides down to at the edge of the pubic area below the belt. It hurts really bad the stronger they make the laser each session, but no pain, no gain. I'm very glad I did it. Groupon is your best friend!

I started taking biotin several years ago to promote nail growth, and now 9 months on Spiro. My scalp hair has been growing well, but the body hair has slowed down and has become finer. I saw a piece on Dr. Oz, that if you lose scalp hair during washing or brushing, you may need zinc. So zinc is now in my regimen. Along with the iron. Why don't I just eat galvinized sheet metal?
