Going to the Opera!

I am in San. Francisco tonight to see my first opera. A friend from my 12 step group is taking me to see Madame Butterfly. I am all dressed up in a beautiful long black dress. My GG friend gave it to me when I first came out. I am posting a few pictures.

Thanks for the compliments ladies. It was truly a magical evening. I was amazed by the opera and the beauty of the opera house itself. There were moments of the performance that really touched me. I ran into a woman from my Wednesday AA group that I came out to about 3 weeks ago. It was the first time she had seen me as Suzanne. Finally, my escort said the sweetest thing to me at the end of the evening. He said, "I can't even imagine you as male." It just capped off a wonderful night!

I'm so glad that the evening went so well!

One of the things that always grated on me was going to "cultural" events and seeing the GGs in their beautiful dresses while I was stuck in drab. Going dressed made me feel better and also made the events more enjoyable for everyone.
