Hi Girls hope you are all ok.
I'm after a little bit of advice about where to purchase a good wig from anywhere in London, and any other advice you may have about wigs would be sooooo apreciated.
Many thanks
Take care

Hi Chloe

I got most of my stuff fromhttp://www.doreenfashions.com/ in Walthamstowe (North London). Reasonable prices, good quality and a warm welcome for everybody. There is also http://www.translife.co.uk/ in west Kensington (South London). Both are very similar, in fact Sophie who runs Translife used to be part of the team at Doreens, but split from them a couple of years ago. Translife don't have a shop as such, though you can call in to collect your purchases, whereas you can go along and try on wigs at Doreens which is always a good idea.
There are a couple of Wig retailers in London that are T* friendly too but I don't have their details to hand at the moment.
The only thing I can say about choosing a wig is to go and try on as many as you can, preferably en-femme if that is possible. I had a very definate idea about what wig I wanted and how it was going to look, but when I actually tried it on it looked completely rediculous!
Hope this helps.

Hi Chloe
I agree with Maddie the best way of choosing a wig is going to have a fitting.
i have put some links of other places to buy wigs from if you do not prefer to go in person and want to buy online which suited me by the way.
http://www.tgcosmetics.co.uk which is run by Alice Tinker who is also TG and well known in the UK forums.
Ladybwear is another supplier of clothing and also wigs to the TG community in the UK http://www.ladybwear.com.

other mailorder wig suppliers i know of are Contrast Wigs which offer wig care advice on their site http://www.contrastwigs.com/
one other is Transglobal Wigs who also offer good care advice for wigs http://www.transglobalwigs.com/

I run a Yahoo group for the TG community in the uk which has many links contained on it to many useful TG links including shopping sites and social/support sites. please feel free to join here is that link also.

Hope i was of help.

As I don't live in London I can't say where to get wigs from, but I would reccomend that wherever you go spend the extra cash and get a real hair one, they feel so much nicer than a synthetic one (yes I know some of the synthetic ones are very good). You also have a greater scope for styling a real hair wig.

Hi. Hun...all the previous advice is good advice....If you can...do it in person..I understand Suzi wigs in Essex are supposed to be very accommodating...likewise Doreens in London..who I have used. I have also used Sue at Contrast wigs...very good service and good products...as with so many things in life...you get what you pay for.!..Good luck.
Love Nikki. xx
