Manga is not to everyones taste but I just found this review of a manga book out now.
Boy Princess Volume 2
This is one of the hottest manhwa titles in Korea right now - and Korean manga is fast becoming one of the hottest parts of the mangaverse with readers. Boy Princess is an adorable story of a medieval prince called Nicole who disguises himself as a woman and married a neighbouring prince to save his kingdom, taking the place of his sister who has eloped with a stablekeeper at the last moment.
Naturally his deception does not go undiscovered for long, but then a romance of sorts develops between the seemingly cold, indifferent Prince Jed and naïve Nicole, as Nicole realises that 'brotherly love' may mean something very different to what he thought!
Netcomics, paperback, 176 pages, published April 2006
Anybody else got other examples of books or literature with crossdressing as a main theme.
In Scotland here, everyone knows the real life historical story of Bonnie Prince Charlie fleeing the battlefield at Culloden and then dressing as Flora Macdonalds maid and sailing "o'er the sea to Skye" to escape from the the Duke of Cumberland and his Hanovarian troops.
