The wife and kids are gone away for the weekend and I have the place to myself for once. So naturally I dressed up and wore make up. I even blow dried my hair into a more feminine style in the absence of a wig.
So there I was all dressed up and nowhere to go. So just as dusk fell a convenient rain shower fell and I decided to go for a drive. I ran out under my umbrella and set off in the car. I drove all over town and even past my sister in laws house. I stopped in a car park and got out for a minute or two then drove on gradually becoming more relaxed and feeling normal.
When I got home I realised I had to post a letter so in the spirit of the moment I put on a jacket and with an umbrella off I set to place it in the mail box. It's a quiet area, quite safe so no fear. Although just as I was reaching the post office a police van appeared patrolling the area. That made me nervous. Would they see a woman alone and stop to give me reassurance? But no they carried on past. I've made that walk many times and never did it seem so long.
So I got back and now I'm wondering what the fuss is about. I should do this more often. I've been dressed all day and now it feels completely normal and unexciting.
I wish every day was like this.

Congratulations on your day, Marie!
It is so great when it feels "completely normak and unexciting." It kinda means that you've arrived!
Hugs,
Persephone.

Congratulations!
And yes, you should do it more often. You owe it to yourself.

This is not my first time but it's my first time back for a long time. The effect it's had on me just proves I've been fooling myself for far too long. And my wife.
We need to talk.

Sounds nice ... much like my first time out, when, after the initial excitement of actually being out in public dressed as a woman, I started to feel simply relaxed and comfortable being en femme ...

Even better today I got up put on my dress and cardigan and went down to have breakfast. Just like that. Going back to dressing up and pretending to be a man is going to be very difficult. :yucky:

Welcome back Marie,
Now that you had a fun time last night, where are you off to tonight?
Is there a place there that you've been wanting to go? Maybe a drag show? Or maybe just a quiet park to walk..
Any other local members that you have been wanting to meet?
Either way ENJOY the time..
Hugs, Connie Marie

Well I'm sitting here deciding what to do. I did go for a drive in broad daylight in my dress. The only thing I had to do was put on a jogging pants and top (both women's actually) over the dress in order to get into the car. I stripped them off in the car and drove around happily with the windows open.
I would like to meet others but there doesn't seem to be a group here in this city. I haven't gone into any of the gay bars though. Although I feel this city is too small for that to go unnoticed unlike my home town, Dublin. Dressing alone isn't my thing really I would much prefer company. I think a trip to Dublin to 'visit my Mother' is in order! But not tonight.
I might go shopping first though. I saw a fab dress in one of the stores yesterday. I can just see myself in it with matching sandals or high heels and a matching bag.

Sounds like the sort of thing I do ..driving to a park (i know a few quiet places near the Beach , walk around , sit on a bench , the car is your safety net , and is close by if you sense fear
Good way to get the confidence up and running a bit

Congrats on the trip out.. Always a joy! ..and it never goes away!!
I almost did last night, except I had no idea when the 'kid' would be coming home.. DRAT!
I was out on the deck dressed last evening, and the neighbors were all out and about.. A perfect nite for a drive..
He showed up after midnight, so I woulda' had all kinds of time.. Maybe next time..
Thinking a nite away to a non-local motel with the approving (sort of) SO, and taking a shopping trip! Hmmm.m.m.m...
