A year and a day

Well it's been a year and a day that Nigella became her whole self.

8-8-13 was the date that she had her srs. It was a very emotional time for me not because I didn't want it to happen, or thought I was losing my husband, it was the fact that she was becoming whole, becoming her true self. The first few weeks wasn't easy as she could hardly do anything for herself and in total had 8 weeks off work, but we got through it.

I wouldn't change a thing that has happened, I am not embarrassed when we go out never have been, we hold hands and kiss in public after all isn't that what people who are in love do

We go about our business just like any other couple and I love her so much and all ways will.

I would like to add that in another two weeks or so we will be celebrating our 27th wedding anniversary, so yes we have been together a long time. The bond between us has always been strong. Sandra knew long before I did that I was TS and not once did she push for me to "sort myself out", being as supportive as she is, she left me to find myself, going through all the trials and tribulations that having a PARTNER with GD can bring.

Note that the word partner is in capital letters, yes I am shouting that point, it is how our relationship has always been, one of give and take on both sides. I feel blessed that I have someone who has shared this journey with me, despite many times, being given the opportunity to walk away with no ill feeling on my part. At the same time I feel saddened for those who lose so much over this life we lead.

There is no right or wrong answer to this eternal dilemma, each relationship has to stand or fall on it's own merits, what works for one relationship could tear another apart. If all this thread does is show that there could be light at the end of your dark tunnel, then it has served a purpose.

Both Sandra and I love this little corner of the web that we call home so much and feel blessed that we can share with you all.

Thanks everyone it means a lot that you all took the time to reply.

Some have mentioned unconditional love..yes I love Nigella to bits but it's not all about the love that has seen us both through this. It's been the fact that we can sit down and talk things through and not rushed into things, we have decided things together and not one pulling in one direction while the other is pulling in the opposite.
