View Full Version : A Year Ago Today I Fired the Psychic

Today marks the one year anniversary of the day that I fired the psychic.

Friday marked the one year anniversary of the day that I finally had the talk with her about my gender issues, which turned out to be a big fiasco, and triggered me to finally dump her. For 14 long months prior to that I felt like I needed to talk to someone about my gender issues, and I felt like she being a psychic would have been able to pick up on something. Instead, she picked up on nothing, and said absolutely nothing to me, other than to "man up" and to keep pressuring me into dating and getting married.

On August 8, 2013, I finally got the courage to talk with her about my gender issues. Here is a recap of her 30 minute long, anger-filled tirade. Keep in mind that she yelled and screamed the whole thing.

1. Being a woman sucks.
2. Women have PMS. (she emphasized the letters PMS)
3. She told me how menopause sucks.
4. She didn't want to have daughters, because she didn't want her daughters to go through what she went through. Btw, she ended up with two daughters and one son. If I was her daughter and I overheard her saying that to me, I would feel hurt beyond belief and not want to talk with her ever again.
5. She told me that my soul is male, that I have more male energy, and that she saw more male reincarnations in future lifetimes.
6. She told me that I was ungrateful to be a man.
7. That men have it 75% easier than women.
8. That it will always be a man's world, and that chauvinist men will always dominate women.
9. She asked me if I was attracted to men or women, and when I told her women, she said "so you want to be a lesbian woman". (Oddly, as it turns, out I am currently in a relationship with a transgender man, and I might be straight or bi) (She was sounding really sarcastic when she said this one)
10. Eternal damnation is real, and that is the sad truth. (she sounded really frantic when she said this one)
11. That gender confusion comes from the devil, not from God. Why can't people just accept the gender they are born with? (It felt like we were having a MAJOR earthquake)
12. How the Gays and Lesbians are responsible for Obama's re-election. (She said this 3 weeks earlier as well)
13. How the government likes to make clones of everything. (I think she was referring to the medical processes involved in transition)

I just stared into space for 3 hours completely dazed and confused.

Three days later, on August 11, 2013, I finally got the courage to fire her. The following day, I drove to her house to return some candles, and to give her severance pay, and I have not seen nor spoken with her ever since then.

This was a huge step that I took to getting some real help for my gender issues. Three weeks later I joined the forum. Eventually I started seeing a therapist, and started going to a support group, and started venturing outside the house as my authentic self. I feel like I am in a much better place today than I was a year ago.

P.S. The psychic has no idea what it is really like to be transgender, and what kind of discrimination TG people face, and all she could say is how being TG comes from the devil.

It does help to get the right kind of help when you need it. Glad to see and hear you are doing much better today. Keep you eye on your goal and do the work necessary to achieve it.

Psychics are charlatans, nothing more. She even failed at that.

I hope you've gone on to more credible and reliable advisors.

good job canning her She was just running a scam anyway taking your money and didn't even tell you what you wanted to hear. Bad psychic. At least she could tell you what you wanted to hear Sound like she is a bigot to.

I believe that there are some legitimate Psychics out there. However; like any other professional out there, you do have to be careful and check them out first. Someone who is reputable will not mind you doing that.

You did good to fire her, because from what I read in your post, she was not a good reader at all and she was just taking your money.

I'm also glad to hear that you are doing much better.

Seriously, Did you genuinely mean Psychic? What on earth did you expect from her?

I am glad at least that you now see someone QUALIFIED and EXPERIENCED to deal with gender issues. Possibly would have been a better place to start though.

So you paid actual money for a psychic? Did you not realize that psychics are nothing more than false prophets? Maybe con artists?
Have you ever called that Cleo psychic?

Here are some pictures of the place I used to go to. This is where the con artist, charalatan, bigoted, racist, homophobic, transphobic, sexist runs here scheme.

gender issues aside, shouldn't she have made an attempt to say what you wanted to hear in order to earn your money?
Assuming you paid her a respectable amount, I mean it is not like the cashier at a gas station who could give two rats' asses, no, the psychic probably makes good money. So why would she run off customers?

I think her strategy was to tell you what you want to hear, and that gets you her business. Then she will tell you what you don't want to hear, and make you feel like crap. Then you come running back to her for a solution. She will initially tell you what you don't want to hear and that there is no hope, but shortly thereafter she will tell you what you want to hear so she can get your money. Then she would repeat the pattern all over again.

I saw this pattern in her. I think had I not fired her, she probably would have told me something like
"give me (insert large sum of money) and you will be reincarnated as a woman in your next life",
or
"give me (insert large sum of money) I will help you with your transition, you may need to research how to do this but I will pray that everything goes well for a smooth transition"
or
"give me (insert large sum of money) I will help you to find a girlfriend that is into crossdressers"

It's best that I fired her, because had she actually got involved in my transition, I could already see her finding ways to wreck it. She might tell me how I should dress, or might have not liked my choice of name, and certainly would have no real understanding of trans discrimination. Oh, and she would have insisted that I need to be a year on HRT before I come out to my parents, because telling my parents would cause them to send out bad vibes thus wrecking my transition. Then she would ask for more money so she could "block my father's negative energy."

Of course, this is all speculation, just my guess at how she might have handled my transition had I stayed with her. I think her comment about the devil was enough to finally cause me to pull the plug on her. I cannot work with someone who feels like she does about transgender people, nor with someone who believes in the Old Testament punishing God like she does.

At the end of the gender conversation on 8/8/2013, she said that she wanted to meet with me in person and start planning out possible life paths. I became very suspicious of her at that point, and because of the whole conversation. I phoned a friend, let's call her LC, that I spoke with on 8/1/2013 about my gender issues, and she recommended that I start going to a transgender support group. On 8/7/2013, I finally broke silence about the psychic and told LC about her and what was going on with her. On 8/11/2013, 1 hour before I fired the psychic I called up LC (2:30 PM) and told her about the conversation on 8/8/2013. LC agreed that the psychic's saying that transgender people come from the devil was the straw that broke the camel's back and said everything about her, and agreed that firing her was the best option. I knew at that moment that I was going to fire her.

At 3:00 PM, I called up the psychic, and she was eating lunch. I told her that I wanted to do a performance review with her, and she said she would be free in a half hour, and that I would call her back in a half hour. At 3:30 PM, I called her up and told her that this is a difficult decision but that it is best that we separate, and I told her my reasons were due to differences in religious beliefs, as well as that she was "getting burned by blocking my father's negative energy", and that this is best for both of us. I agreed to pay her severance pay. She tried to guilt trip me into not firing her, and asked me if this was my decision and not anyone else's. I told her it was my decision, and she suspected that I was going to go to another psychic reader. She had mentioned that she thought I had been consulting another reader, and she thought that was the reason I was firing her. In actuality I was not going to see another psychic, and I had not seen any psychic since then.

I don't want to divulge financial figures on the internet, but let's say that the amount I spent on her could have gone towards some good therapy or hair removal or surgeries.

Good job firing her. Youre so much better off without her.

I'm really glad you got rid of the "psychic". I'm often amazed that people nowadays still fall for it. Some of the things in your list are plain stupid, others are nasty and you're miles better off without her. Support groups and genuine trained therapists are FAR more likely to help you.

As an aside, a friend of mine was telling me how impressed she was that her "stars" in the newspaper were right twice last month...... Cue a short tirade from me pointing out the vagueness in said articles and the ease with which they can be stretched to fill a huge number of different scenarios (and even then only scoring 2 out of 31, a fail in any test). They are all, repeat all frauds and should be seen as for entertainment purposes only.

I'm so glad to hear you are doing a lot better under the care of qualified professionals x

She sounds very bitter about her life. You should have charged her a counselor fee since she unloaded on you. Why pay someone to give you their opinion?

It was a bad time for you, move on and put it behind you.

maybe she was still bitter from her past life as a ground worm :)
Next re-incarnation will take care of itself without needing to worry this time around, while the last has been and gone.
Only believe the psychic who has won Lotto 3 times in the last 3 draws.

Please do not use the words legitimate and psychic in the same sentence.
