Hi, making a change to my post here, guess few have tried.

I am a closet crossdresser. I was to Thailand on vacation this summer, but did not dress up. I did visit a Beauty Salon, where they did put on wig, makeup and paint my nails. But before returning to hotel I did remove all the makeup.

After seeing how friendly the Thai are to crossdressing, I am thinking about trying to stay a few days dressed like woman. My plan is to first visit a Beauty Salon, like I did this year, but that I instead of wig, can get female hair cut, maybe using extensions.

I wonder if others have tried simelar, do you have positive experience, or negative. Is it smart to ask hotel first if its ok, or is better to rent a appartment?

In my mind there are thousands of reason not to do it... but same time want to experience it.

I don't think there would be any reason to ask if it is okay.

Many transsexuals visit Bangkok for surgeries, and they have a large population of transgender people, so I don't think you would have much to worry about.

Thanks, think youre right. But to me its very big step, so I see problems where there are none.

Susannma there may be problems now or coming soon with the army take over, I assume you will keep a check on what happens ?

Will off course keep an eye on situation, but army did take over in May, and when I was there in July there was no problems.

I like the idea of a fem holiday and can think of no better place than Bangkok. Maybe if a date was set we could have a Forum get together for anyone who wanted to go and meet the people we chat with almost daily. I think it would be awesome to actually meet and spend some time with the lovely women I have met here.
Well a girl can dream cant she?

Smiles, I am planning for July/August 2015. I am planning a 2-3 week stay. But I am not planning to dress all the time, and will probably travel a bit around in Thailand.

Will be happy to meet other crossdressers there, its alway nice to meet people with same interests.:)

Sounds like a neat place to visit and go out dresses up. Trouble is, I am on a low fixed income, and no savings, so there is no way I can go anywhere, unless i won the lottery, and i have only bought one ticket ever! It would be a dream to go.

I visit Thailand quite often. It is a very friendly place for cross-dressers, and I think you should visit and dress how you want.

I think the only limiting factor would be your own inhibitions. Thailand seems to be a tg/tv haven.

Hi Lena, youre right, its to be able to take next step that I very interested to hear about others experiences.

Maybe we could find a group rate? Not a big traveler, but this sounds special!

Did send request, if crossdressing is ok, to a few hotels. So far the only one positive reply, but only one that are negative also. A few have not sent reply, to my request.

So I think I have decided hotel, feel much more comfortable when they say its ok, and not big deal sending a request.

Next challange will be, what to do when all dressed up. Wonder what you do, do you go out, or do you stay at hotel?

With the ladyboy and third sex movements in Southeast Asia, it can be a bit of a hot button topic for some, but generally pretty muted really.

I have been to Thailand twice this year, and sometimes meeting up with Thai people, and had discussions with them on how it's perceived. It's seen as an aberration, and sometimes as a problem by many, especially in more established families.

As a general rule though I seem to see mostly positive comments (with the honesty that if it was in their family there'd probably be some issues). Most along the lines of "Ladyboy are prettier than real lady".

All of this while presenting as a fully normal straight male, so they weren't softening their words to prevent hurting me specifically.

The military takeover seems to be changing quite a few things, but the ladyboy issue doesn't seem to be on the docket. Corruption seems to be their main focus, so ladyboys may have some issues in terms of illegal medical support in the short run, and in the long run it's impossible to tell what's going to happen.

I've spent weeks crossdressed in Thailand and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I just get treated as another woman. I'm Asian so maybe I don't pass anyhow but nobody seemed to care.

I will travel in July/August 2015. Planning a few days in Bangkok....them maybe Pattaya, or Hua Hin, maybe both. I have found two hotels that are ok with crossdressing. And found a beauty salon that can do makeover, and hair. A bit to early to order quite yet, but I have ticked for monitoring prices.

Back in 2008, my partner went to Thailand for an extended period, and I accompanied her. We left England at the start of January, and returned at the end of April

I had been toying with the idea of taking Susan with us, and I discussed this with Chloe (my partner) and we came to the conclusion that this was going to be a 'once-in-a-lifetime' experience, so I thought "blow it", and took the barest minimum of male clothes, and packed my suitcase with everything femme - underwear, skirts, shoes, make-up etc

For the first few days there, I presented as male, while I got my barings, but then I threw caution to the wind, and emerged as Susan

I DID stand out, but that was because I am 6foot 2 in my stockinged feet, and I towered about all the Thai people I came into contact with!

It was a very enjoyable experience, although it did make me realise just how time consuming being a woman is - I had to get up about an hour before Chloe did, so I could shave, get dressed and put my face on. Doing this once a week for a night out is one thing, but doing it on a daily basis is something else!

When we returned to England, I was all set to continue living as Susan, but circumstances dictated that I had to return to the male mode, which was disappointing

Wow! The Pink Fog from this thread is mind boggling. Where should I start?

Why an American, who can find hundreds of T friendly cities in the US, would travel to Thailand to go out dressed is incomprehensible. If u think u'd stand out and feel uncomfortable out dressed in the US? Try it on a continent where the men must average 140 pounds, 5' 6", and, r all slim and pretty. That's just the MEN! And of course, they r Asian looking.

A friend of mine lived in Thailand for 5 years. I visited him and got lots of info about Thai culture. We visited a ladyboy club in Patong for an afternoon and evening. I found out a lot about them. Even tho they r common and mostly accepted in Thailand, they r looked down on by most vanilla Thais because so many r prostitutes. If u want to dress and be around ladyboys, plan on being in the bar/red lite districts. U comfortable with that?

No offense, Susan. I've been all over the planet but never to Norway. But, here? I think most CDs would be more comfortable getting their hair done or go shopping at Walmart in a T friendly US city than in Thailand.

Besides, in my experience, Americans that aren't experienced travelers r scared of their shadow in places as strange and foreign as Bangkok.

Finally, an Asian CD friend of mine and I r planning a trip to Asia early next year. (Probably skip Thailand. We've both been several times.) Even she, who was born in and has made many trips to Asia, was hesitant when I suggested getting some pics of our female characters over there.

But, Sherry is a force to be reckond with these days. So, we'll see------

I kind of lean Sherry's way, but then again I'm a provincial American too. The prospect of going to a place where I stick out like a sore thumb doesn't sound like something I want to do. I'm a lot more comfortable going out dressed in a place where I know the language and local laws.

I do understand, that for many this topic is silly, but I am a closet CD, and I am not comfortable visiting a local Beauty Salon for a femme hair cut. The risk running into someone I know is just to high, no matter where in Norway I go.

Far away, in a place like Bangkok, sounds like a good alternative to me, and compared to here, prices are very low.

By the way, last time I looked Norway is still in Europe.

Seriously Susan; Is it cheaper fly to Bangkok from Norway than take a train to Sweden, Denmark, or Germany?

Granted, your salon visit in those countries may cost u $50, maybe $100 more than in Thailand? But, when u add in the travel costs? Sounds like u just like going to Thailand. Haircut there or not!:battingeyelashes:

Off course, I am going on holliday... I use oppertunity to experience something I am to afraid to try back home.

But for me as a closet cd, the main reason for going far away, is to feel safe. I have been traveling a lot here in Europe...and wherever I have been I have met people I know. Even inn Bangkok, I will not walk the streets dressed, it will taxi from salon to hotel, or condo. Going to a salon is pushing my limits very far. But like I said for someone who are open about crossdressing, I guess this is hard to understand.

Susanna,
I realise the temptation of dressing in Thailand, What about Norway now, where it is dark from 17.00 to about 09.00 in the morning.
I dressed in Narvik three years ago and didn't see the sun for five days.

Cold, stay rugged up and no one could tell you from Eve, :)

Susannma, I served part of my military tour of duty in Thailand. One day, I went shopping for stereo equipment on the air force base about seven miles away from where I was stationed. I ran into a neighbor from my home town of about seven thousand people who was stationed there. We stood looking at each other so shocked that neither of us could speak.

But as for crossdressing in Thailand, I never did, but it was quite prevalent and many pass quite well because of their small features (height, weight, body mass facial features), little body or face hair, and the general oriental skin and hair color.

I enjoyed my time in Thailand - I found the people to be quite friendly, kind, and fun to be around. So, if you can swing the trip, I recommend it.

I guess you could go out dressed in the dark, if you want to. I do not realy have a desire to go outside. Also its quite cold, I dont have warm female clothes.
