I was in Ross (cross) dress for less the other day in drab and I was getting some guy underwear. I noticed 1st there weren't many choices, not a surprise. Then I noticed a lot of women who were shopping there too. I immediately thought "Are they FtoM." Do they feel weird shopping in that section. They didn't look like FtoM. what ever they look like. It had me thinking so I continued over to the womens underwear section. I tried to stay away but just couldn't, LOL. I was the only guy there. Did the women think I was an MtoF? I wonder. I didn't, well maybe a little, feel weird.
I did find several pair in that section that will serve my purpose very well.
Has anyone else had these strange thoughts or am I just weird. I did get a great chuckle out of the experience. Especially since usually when I am at Ross I am dressed for the womens section.

My SO and I were at our local Ross (of all places) store just 3 days ago and noted a(nother) male and his SO actively looking at dresses in HIS size - not hers.....

Makes you go hmmmmm..of course WE were right there too.... LOL

I don't know about Ross, but the dude in pantyhose and silk short-shorts on the bus yesterday certainly had me wondering...

If you see a guy in the clearance section checking out the flared skirts and dresses.. that would be me!

When I go to Ross as a guy, I'm never in the men's section.::D

I don't go to Ross anymore since the girl at the dressing room refused to let me go in and try a couple of things on. She told me "it was not possible" and that was in Vegas? I love Kohls, grab some clothes go in the dressing room and try them on, no big deal.

Ross? Men's section? Why go there?
I didn't even know they had one.

We don't have one near me...or Target. Just walmart, but ours seems
to have a better selection than what i hear about from others. Maybe
it's the minimal competition or something.

Our walmart always has the most beautiful babydolls. They're just a
tiny bit too expensive when i can buy other things i can use. I'm always
very, very tempted, though! lol

I guess I've shopped so long I don't think about it. Years ago I saw a young guy looking at panties. His tight jeans showed he was extremely excited by the experience. His actions made it obvious he was looking for himself. The SAs just let him go after asking if he needed help.

Hi Sallee, I think that you are over thinking.

No surprise there, Sallee...

Most "real" men abhor shopping - and especially clothes shopping. And who can blame them, especially when it comes to underwear. I mean - what are the choices? Boxers or briefs, and maybe a smattering of dark colors like black or navy aside from the standard white (assuming that you can even call those appealing underwear colors)?

So...it is left to their womenfolk to replace their aging underwear when it starts to have more holes in it than a Swiss cheese or begins to hang off their @sses. THAT'S why you often see women shopping in the men's' underwear sections - either for their sons or for their SO's, and certainly not to get their jollies.

That said, we can certainly learn from them, and if they can feel totally at home in the men's underwear section, there's no reason we can't be the same in the lingerie department. What's good for the goose...

The guy me would never shop in Ross. The girl me in guy mode was just there and had to try on a dress that saw. I just sucked it up and took it to the dressing room without any problem.

But, to the OP, I have a couple of cute stories.

A long time ago, before I really accepted myself, I was in Sports Authority trying to get up the muffins to look in the girl's department. The was a a very tall, and beautiful woman in the men's department. Just by virtue of her apparent embarrassment, I surmised she was shopping for herself, because she needed clothes with longer legs than she could find in the woman's section.

About half a lifetime ago, a girl friend (not a girlfriend) wanted to get me men's bikinis a a joke for my birthday. Afterwards, she told me how embarrassed she was to be shopping for men's undies, especially bikinis. I thought this was very funny, because women can shop in men's departments and everyone think they'r shopping for their husband. If men are shopping for women's underwear, many people think they're either gay or a pervert.

As we do not have Ross in Australia, I do a majority of my shopping at Target. This is done in male mode as I have not yet master the courage to go out as Requal. I have not encountered any embarrassment from women or men when shopping for underwear or other apparel.

I have also encountered other males doing as I and have never given it a thought about why they were there until reading this post. I will probably perceive them differently and feel encouraged and not alone when seeing them again while shopping, after reading this post.

Hi Everyone,
this has been an interesting thread and as others have suggested I am doing a lot of reading mostly so as to not step on toes etc ,but I too have experienced the weird feeling of shoppping in the ladies dept. now mostly I shop at goodwill and other thrift shops ,as I do not know as yet how to convert my man size to women size it is a real crapshoot!! my waist is 40-42 my chest is 48 any thoughts on camparrison?? I was out the other day and was getting some looks from the customers including an older lady who said would look good on you ! she was gone before I could muster up the courage to enquire as to my size etc I suppose I could just go try them on ,but I have read elsewhere of people being harrassed in stores for this !! this is starting to become an adventure thanks phylis

hi Phylis,
Many websites on size conversion but Thift and GW are good to
start as low investment cost and donation write off if it doesn't fit.

Last time I was in the men's section of a store I needed a new dress shirt for a wedding.
That's a "must have" moment. Any other time I'm in any store I'm roaming the women's section, mostly the discount racks looking for a bargain. After all, I'm a frugal gal at heart.

I would just assume a woman shopping in the mens section was just shopping for their SO.
I have never seen a guy, by himself, shopping in the woman's lingerie section. I feel like such a freak for being the only one.

There was this one young fellow I encountered shopping for bras in the women's section. He seemed really up tight. I didn't see anything I liked, so I moved on. I've always assumed the guy was a fellow CD.

My old girlfriend managed to find me a guy thong, with little bananas printed on it. :D

Speaking of Ross found a great dress find today, blue polka dot dress for just 13.00 didn't even try it on but held it up to me and knew it would fit. Fit so great when I got home. Hope to show it to you girls at some point when I get my wig and a few other things

1) Many men have their wives buy their clothes for them. Women buying men's clothing is perfectly normal and is not a sign that they are FTM crossdressers (if there even is such a thing).

2) When people see a man shopping in the woman's section, they probably think he is gay. Most people would think that before crossdresser comes to mind.
