This past Sunday, my friends and I got dressed into our vintage outfits to enjoy another Prairie Dog Central's Steam Train trip. This trip felt quite different than the prior trips. Yes it was a wet rainy day in which we didn't really have in previous trips. However that wasn't really the factor in the difference. The difference was how the other patrons were acting. For being a sold out train it was very quiet in our coach. On the way to Grosse Isle, I noticed a few parents somewhat scolding their children and pointing towards us. I assumed that they had issues with our dressing up.
Well as we were enjoying our lunch in the stop at Grosse Isle, a little girl (one of which seemed to be getting scolded earlier) dragged her mother over to me and asked me for an autograph on her train ticket. I was expecting a request for a picture, but an AUTOGRAPH????? I guess the mother picked up on my stunned look and explained the reason for the question. Apparently they thought that we were part of the cast of the future tv series show "The Pinkertons" that just started shooting that week in Grosse Isle. Instead of an autograph, I let them and their group/family take pictures with me.
I can't wait for the Prairie Dog Central to get the ownership of the " The Pinkertons" set of a train station and village. Would be lots of fun taking pictures on that set, especially if the show becomes a hit that many expect it to be. I heard the show would be starting on the USA cable stations sometime in October, hopefully it airs up here.

Well all 22 episodes that they have plans to shoot are already sold to independent U.S. networks, and who knows if those networks are available here in Canada or the Canadian networks are willing to pay for the owned episodes to air on their channels

What a great moment.
Is your profile pic taken from that outing?
The dress looks lovely and I bet it feels nice on.

Hi Chantal . . . LOL what a great story. Perhaps you should try and get a part as an extra on the show.

Amanda, nope I wore one of my first Victorian dresses to the PDC this time, which wasn't worn for a PDC train trip before. I would be sharing the pictures from my busy weekend tomorrow in the Special Events & Occasions part of the forum.

Isha, $11/hour for a span of 6 months is not quite worth giving up my present $26/hour secure job. I know many folks here are willing to sacrifice everything to work in girl mode or be on television, but not me LoL

Chantal, I used to do period gunfights from the 1870-1890 time period and folks were always asking for pictures. You did a fantastic thing by letting them get pics of you with them, it is something they will remember for ages. and I can't wait to see the victorian dresses. You go Girl !

Might be worth a a trip up there, when do the trains stop running?
I am usually too late for most vintage train trips.

Lilly,
Filming in towns happens a lot and the locals never see it.

The last PDC train trip is October 26th. The first train trips of the year are in May.

You're a star to ME, Chantal. And, someone who has inspired me to get Sherry out there! Sherry and I made a video with a college cinematography class yesterday.

None of this would have been possible without u! And, a few brave others here that dress artistically and go out.
