Sandie well done !
I guess we should have a quick medical check before venturing out, just to make sure the ticker can stand it !!

Yes, way to go Sandie! I still have that little rush whenever I step out the door, but with time that calms down. (It gets better each time!) Oh, and don't forget to use a good antiperspirant! :heehee:

Good for you. Now if you want to do it again, expand your experience a bit by making an outing to a museum or Starbucks...well any place where people gather quietly.

Our own fears are often greater than the reaction people will give us.

You GO girl! :)

In our imgainations we see the villagers with their torches and pitchforks ready to chase us down, or mobs of angry mothers screaming at us for ruining their day out with the little ones who should have never been exposed to that kind of thing. In reality most of the people just ignore us, some are mildly amused and others treat us well. It will take a while to accept this, and I never believed it when I was told. I had to learn it and if you want to continue to get out and spread your wings, you may come to see it for yourself. In the meantime, enjoy the racing heart and the adrenaline rush. It brings a lot of great color to your cheeks and a smile to your lips.

The longest journey begins with a single step. Glad the hordes of intolerants didnt descend upon you.

You've got more courage than me. Though small town + rather unaccepting part of the world going out isn't an option.

Edit: Yay I can post now!

I remember the first time I went out in public, and I'm not talking about driving at night and maybe buying gas.
It's my fondest memory, my first time at the mall, where TWO SA's addressed me as "Miss".
Every time out is fun, but that first outing takes the cake.
Have fun, it's what it's all about.
Good for you!

Congratulations, and you will not forget your first outing. Each successive outing will become easier.
