Hi! I just wanted to share a great exchange from last Tuesday. I dressed again and had a lovely dinner at an upscale Italian restaurant (pic below - a little dark). Of course, since i was travelling for business, I was alone, but that was ok. Anyway, I asked my waitress where the restroom was, and she very clearly pointed me towards the Ladies room (the Men's room was in a different location). Wow. That was awesome!

Kudos the waitress! That is a really progressive thinking woman.

I'm not sure if the server was progressive; perhaps she just assumed you were a woman. ???

I'm with bridge, she could have easily thought you were just another woman, you look very convincing, xoxo.

Stephanie,
Dressed like you were, really what did you expect.
I agree you would have had a fuzzy feeling inside though.

Thanks, Yoshisaur! Payless :D.

I would like to believe she was being genuine and sent me to the ladies room because, well, she thought I was a lady. However, I take that with somewhat of a grain of salt, because I certainly don't want to think of myself as more passable than I am. I did get the "Miss" comment a number of times from the busboy, and it was a little dark. Each day/outing is a little better, and I'll keep working and enjoying.

Wow, Stephanie, what a great experience! You handled the "rest room issue" beautifully. We worry so much about passing -- well, your waitress passed! Surely a dinner and night to remember, and I'm sure that you tipped well!

I'm glad you got out and enjoyed a nice dinner out. As for the waitress, every little bit of affirmation helps, doesn't it?

Just love the affirmation, however small it might seem. I recently had a doorman at a hotel open the door for me and say "good morning, Ma'am!" What a thrill!
