It seems that, by our open and frank discussion of our dressing preferences, we are naively making ourselves vulnerable to a bunch of perverts. Does our membership of this forum give other members the right to send us private messages with pornographic attachments? In particular people who claim in their profile to be straight, but send pictures of their exposed genitals. Oh, and they don't bother to post on the boards, so they are (unwelcome?) lurkers anyway.

Do these sad guys really believe that the delightful fantasy creatures portrayed in some of our avatars are GGs looking for well hung male companions?
Do these guys belong here?
Should they be allowed to remain here?
Has anybody else had these distasteful messages? Any opinions?

My answer to all of the perverted lurkers out there
(not necessarily to all of the lurkers of course - we all started that way)

me neither, but yeah that sucks! It damages the security and comfort we all feel when we come here. It's like going to have dinner with the family only to look over and see a c*** pressed against the window during dinner:mad:

This isn't that kind of place - there are all kinds of CD forums that are specifically for that kind of thing. Unless someone specifically asked you for it, go somewhere else as you're just upsetting people here. Of course, if that's what you're trying to do...........Go talk to a shrink!!!

great stuff Ally. :) Thanks.

Let us reject all the unwanted trash.

There is a personals board where people can indulge in this type of cr*p if they have to. Not that I think that most of the messages on that board have any relevance to this forum. Some people who have serious personal things to discuss may be ignored; most of us never go to that board because 90% of the content is unworthy of our attention.

Does anybody have any objection if we name and shame on this board any unwanted private messagers?

I agree..unwanted trash out!! havent had any rude pm's,thankfully..but whenever I go into a chatroom...yes,even the one that has a link posted here..I get unwanted pm's and I sometimes have to become rather more abusive than I'd like in order to get them to stop.

I was once asked to not come into a certain restaraunt because "We run a family business here, not a sideshow" I will paraphrase that for all the people who seem to think that this is a porn site.

We run a decent site here, not a sex site. If you insist on exposing yourself and/or sending lude/rude messages or posts, Please go to a sex site. There are plenty of them available.

Actually, I think that's a good idea.

I have had some of those messages but not lately. I know that when I post my pictures that there's most likely someone who is getting their jollies out of it. That's their problem, not mine. I won't be intimidated by the thought that some pervert is lurking in the shadows.

I see this forum as support for all the girls like me who want to express themselves without persecution and who need a support community to help them deal with the negative stigma crossdressing has.

No one, and I mean no one, will scare me away.

Why is everyone so concerned about perverts. I said this before, go to the personals and you will see a post from a 16 year old looking for men between 16 and 60. Yet I don't hear a peep of protest from this thread. If a post like that exists without one word against it then you deserve all the perverted in the world to come on to you. The thread has been here since(I think) May, which would give the admin and moderators plenty of time to take action, they can not claim ignorance because I had brought this up already. The silence from you CDs on this post is defening, you cry if you see a naked man yet a post like I mentioned goes without comment. I don't care who moderates the Personal section, there must be someone, it just doesn't float along by itself, and the other moderators here should contact whoever runs the personal section for it is part of this site as a whole. So until you CDs make a complaint about this kind of post, then you don't have a leg to stand on in your complaints.

Off topic: Dang it Wendy, every time I see your avitar I want a beer!

On topic: I have got some of the messages mentioned. I just delete them. This forum does a pretty good job of policing itself - and we've got great moderators. As long as this forum is here, there will be idiots that want to be perverted. As long as we don't fan the flames we'll be ok. When I see that crap I just ignore it - because the author is only looking for a response - ANY reasponse.

Amelie,

I do believe the 16 year old has been bumped from the membership ... no hot link to a profile. I agree, the post should be deleted.

As for the public outing of those in bad taste (not going all the way to pervert), I'm not against it, but maybe sending a copy to the moderator for her to decide whether to delete and/or bump membership. That way, we'd have one, consistent threshold for what is appropriate. Besides, Julie is a lady and we know how she handles gropers in a bar, don't we!

From a behaviorists stand point, outing them and giving them attention is attention. It may serve to have the opposite effect. I say report to the moderator and let her decide what to do.

That'll cost ya 2 cents :p

Amelie...more than just a pretty face. I didn't see the posting, but that does sound pretty sad. I haven't had any pics sent to me because I don't have an attractive pic on the forum. I was a member of a friend-finder site for a short while, and it was amazing how many people, more men than women, but, lots of women, just put up pics of their genitals. Like they are the only people in the whole freaking world that have a set?!?!?!? For the lurkers reading this posting, don't f**king bother. I am quite happy with mine. I just dress. Only my gf gets to screw me. wenda.

I to have reported it to admin when I have notice any underage persons being on the site because it will make the forum look like a site that everyone does not want to see childs being hurt in any way at all if they are underage it is surely everyone place to ask them to leave or report it to admin and let them deal with it

You know I've noticed from alot of folks (my wife included) that because we CD then perversion must be at the core of it all. That frustrates me and make me feel bad/mad at the same time. I know when I accidentallyl stumble into a picture with genitles exposed I don't like it. If that was what I was after then I would got to a site that specializes in it (and there are many)
I haven't got crude messages yet from here and hope I don't. I like this comunity and hope we can maintain good control. I guess, I would say if you want a date check out the personals. If you want porn go to one of those sites and leave us alone.

Still loven life :)

kewI have to agree with our local "professional" behaviorist. Shock value is their thrill factor. Being ignored is boring to them and they move on.

I've been involved with internet forums since 1995 and preverts, trolls and all the current villiany was active back then as well. From experience ignoring, blocking or reporting the user is the best course of action.

It's definitely easy to be hypocritical on something like this, but actively clicking on a thread is different than getting a PM. Sure, there's definitely something wrong with the 16 year-old thread, but people choose to click on it and go there. There is no way to really know what's in a thread until you go to it, but that's a risk we take every time. Now a PM is much different, it's more intrusive. I think a good analogy would be the difference between watching a porn channel and getting anonymous lewd phone calls. Yeah, sometimes the porn is totally inappropriate, but it's certainly less freaky than a call from someone just breathing into the phone.

Its a risk that we all have to take, but there are options when it comes to e-mail and attachments.

1. You can create an e-mail in Yahoo, excite, or Hotmail. Just remember to not put down your real name on it or your exact location.

2. Many e-mail programs let you restrict the content of attachments and will block porn, or you can block all attachments

3. Click on the tab that shows the full headers on the e-mail that you received (Yahoo has this) and it displays tha path, with IP numbers from where it originated. Then you can report the idiots !!!

Good Crispy! Hey who's for a "Shame on you thread"? this would help warn the other girls who to look out for. Be careful girls.. I have heard a lot of this type of thing going on here lately.

Nice av, Tristen!

As a practical matter there is little that can be done about it. They can come back with a different ID if banned. There are various ways that people can make their IP address difficult or impossible to trace (you need the ISP to feel that it is worth it in your case).

I think that the best thing we can all do is DON'T FEED THE TROLLS. (Of course, let a moderator know about it if only for statistics' sake.)

btw I no longer open attachments, period. And I am beginning to rethink embedded links.

I've had a couple of people these past few days trying to contact me. I've also had messages from MSN about people wanting to add me to their favourites.
