Casual drinking has been associated with lowering inhibitions. Too much booze and you may end up regretting loosing your inhibitions!

I always found that holding a coffee mug whilst trying to do up a bra one-handed was a recipe for spilled coffee and a nail split by a bra hook... Wasn't that what you meant...? ;)
All things in moderation, I believe... nothing wrong with a few drinks in the right place and with the right company... :wine:

Hi Sabrina,
Not trying to minimalize your post as it is a legitimate question and I suppose for some it can enhance the experience but for me personally not so much. Now for my warped sense of humour. The comments about "dressing and drinking" got me thinking about public awareness commercials for TG folks . . . goes something like this
Lights up on the commercial - a non descript police office with a well dressed female detective sitting behind the desk. Three people rush in a state of panic
Detective: Before anyone asks she is fine. It is fortunate we found her before things became serious.
Friend 1: We turned our back for a moment and she was gone. We were just having a few drinks before going out
Friend 2: I told you she was drinking too much . . . what were we thinking
Friend 3: There is nothing we can do about it now. Thank goodness she is okay.
Phone rings on desk and detective picks up the receiver, non audible conversation. Detective puts down the phone.
Detective: They are bringing her in. Prepare yourself as she is fine but it is not pretty. I think we all learned a lesson here and this time make sure she gets home safe.
Door opens and another detective is leading a person in. The person's wig is askew, lipstick way overdrawn around lips, far too much blue eye shadow, fuchsia leggings with brown knee socks and purple sneakers, lime green tunic top.
Friends all give an audible gasp . . . close up on detective behind the desk who shakes her head and silently says "Darn shame what happens when you drink and dress"
Fade to black . . . caption appears . . . Friends don't let friends drink and dress. Dress responsibly ( BTW thanks Andy for the tag line :))
Hugs

I will have a drink or 3 at home when I dress...mostly out of sheer boredom and it makes it more interesting. I'm not too much of a fan sitting home alone dressed so a $1.09 bottle of wine just makes it that much more fun, it loosens you up a bit too. And when I am out, as long as I do NOT have to drive I will toss back a few too. xoxo

I have never dressed drunk or drunk dressed, this despite the fact that I drink quite a lot (BUT!! I have no intention to ever be drunk.)

Entire books have been written on the effects of drinking alcohol. Hundreds of books. Yes, alcohol reduces your inhibitions. That's why people drink it. Entire industries have been built around the consumption of alcohol. Many people are born as a result of alcohol consumption.
Personally, long term alcohol consumption has caused me a serious medical problem so I had to quit drinking several years ago. Moderate consumption is OK for most people but for many, it's hard to limit their consumption once they start drinking.
I suggest setting a limit and sticking to it. If you find yourself getting into trouble when you drink, quit drinking.

I don't drink and dress, but then again, I don't drink and do anything. My wife, however, is another story. She's fully supportive and comfortable with me dressing at home, or going out alone while dressed. But if we're going out as a couple for dinner, or shopping, then I better have a glass of wine waiting for her on my dressing table as I'm getting ready. One glass is enough to loosen her up and get us out of the house. Over a second glass at dinner she starts to enjoy our "girl's night out". If she goes for a third glass, then she spends the rest of the night pretending we're lesbians lovers...Good thing she always has a designated driver:-)

It all depends on the drink. My dressing involves an inward tuck, the McNuggets tucked up and all all held in place with some support panties. This really limits the abdominal space left over for my bladder. So as much as I love craft beers and ciders, wine, and coffee drinking can really put the clamps on an outing. So I don't drink much before outings, especially diuretics like coffee and tea. Lineups in the ladies' rooms can be long and undoing and re updoing everything is a hassle.
I rarely drink hard liquor/spirits, but inefemme that might be my choice.

Oh Gosh. Just this morning I got fully dressed and had two good shots. Sunday morning early is Carla time. I click-clacked out to the kitchen with my new birthday heels and my big tits and set the coffee brewer. I played around with outfits (it's a big titty day so nothing really fits right) and decided to take off the knit dress and go with the minimal short top that barely covers the titties and the short lace skirt that makes me look like a trailer park tramp. Oooo! Loving myself in the mirror after another shot, I realize that I didn't empty the left over coffee in the pot from yesterday. Hobbling out to the kitchen, I discover that the machine had overflowed all over the counter and down to the new tile floor that I just spent $12K to have installed. After feverish clean-up with big tits in the way, I remedied the situation. Was this an alcohol mistake? Naa! I'm all warm and fuzzy now with a nice buzz. I'm sure DADT wife will be up soon to ruin all that.

Heehee! Thanks for the awesome commercial. :)
Oh, and to answer the original question, what I drink and the way I dress really arent related, but I would be kind of scared to get dressed (either drab or femme) while drunk, for fear of how I would end up looking... Buttons not lined up, fly open, one shoe missing, etc. Not cool.

My personal experience is that I enjoy a drink (or three) when I am in guy mode, but when dressed, I have no desire for alcohol and really have gone long stretches even without eating (not hungry) in girl mode. That has mostly happened to me when dressed in a hotel room on the road, probably rationalizing that the money I would spend on food was better spent on a bra and panty set for the evening.

Alcohol makes me numb, inside and out. I don't drink and get dressed because then I literally cannot feel the clothes as well, which is half the point.
I'll still enjoy a smoke, but drinking for nights when I'm trying NOT to CD, strangely.

I don't drink and dress. If something were to happen, I would want all of my decision making functions fully operating.
Also, drinking and dressing (at least of of the house) could lead to drinking while driving. I know someone who was recently stopped at a sobriety check point after drinking. In short, she had to do the toe-to-heel walk in heels. She was arrested and charged with for driving while intoxicated (DWI/DUI). She was place in handcuffs for the mandatory ride to the police station. She was placed in the women's holding cell (she is a GG) until the next morning. I don't want to find out which holding cell they would put me in. I'm not sure either of the choices would be safe for Steffi.

when I am out and dressed(always with my supportive wife) I make it a rule that I only have 2 drinks.
this way I can always make rational decisions and remain in as much control of any situation possible.
at home I suppose a few more drinks won't hurt anyone, but in public stay sober sisters!!

If I ever drink when dressed I do it at my house. That way I'm in control weather I'm drunk or sober. Plus I'm not a big social drinker to begin with. I don't drink often so when I do I want to DRINK. lol so best not to do it in public.
drinking and dressing on Halloween has led to some of my best / worst / weirdest memories!

Drinking was one of the ways I self medicated for the shame of my CDing, long story short I am now a recovering alcoholic and have accepted my femme side and the need to drink to enhance my femme self is a non issue. To each their own I don't want to preach.

I do not frequently drink in general but when I do and I am alone at the end of the night, my eyebrows usually get plucked and I fall asleep with my makeup on.
I have noticed that selfies after drinking aren't usually as flattering so I try to avoid it. :)

I can't say I feel "enhanced". I am very careful about my alcohol intake when I go out...usually I switch to soda or O'Douls after three drinks. At home I will allow myself a bit more, but I don't feel it improves how I feel about myself in any respect.

Sabrina,
I must admit, there is (almost) nothing I enjoy more than drinking and dressing. I can't say I don't enjoy one without the other but the combination definitely enhances my girly feelings. I've wondered how many others felt this way, I'm glad you posted this.

If I'm out with a group of girls and the social occasion calls for it, than I may/will have a drink as I feel like.

For some reason I don't get the urge to dress when I've had a drink. It's probably because I don't drink at home, so my mind is pre-occupied with the social event and pushes dressing out my mind. Then when I get home I'm usually in such a state I struggle getting through the door, let alone get dressed up.

I have very little experience drinking while dressing because I usually drive while dressed. In the winter here in the Great White North there are often RIDE programs when you least expect them. Getting pulled over, it's trouble to explain one thing, let alone two.

The one thing I do not do is drink and drive. If I am driving I do not consume any liquor at all. I did go out to a restaurant on Sunday and had a few margaritas and I was also dressed en femme, so I will drink when I am dressed. The restaurant was a short walk from where I live.
Mimi and i tend not to indulge in alcohol when dining out both for safety reasons and because the price of wine by the glass is outrageous. We'd rather spend the same money on wonderfully decadent desserts.

My wife and I like to drink beer or Caroline's (generic bailey's) in the evening. She is in her pajama pants and a t shirt. I am in my full Iowa farm wife mode.
We usually start about 4:20 lol
We took our RV to Colorado and points west this summer... Washington and Oregon. I was androgenously dressed almost the whole trip. I even got some new Chic jeans in Crescent City!

More than about one drink a day ain't healthful. Kefir beer is probably the most healthful drink. I seldom have alcohol, unless it's in kefir or sweet cider. I found that if you leave apple juice set out for a day or so, it gets a nice fizz when you drink it. You can cool it first. I think that's a bit of alcohol. But juices aren't so healthful either generally, except fresh veg juice.

Drank and dressed to great success*, told the guys**, they were surprised.
*I downed quite a fair bit of alcohol not too recently, changed into a dress and wig (no makeup) and took a few selfies, which wound up as my entry for the Miniskirt Challenge of all places. I did recall performing a risqué dance in front of the mirror later.
** During a spin-the-bottle session with ex-classmates, I was forced to own up to the worst thing I did under the influence. Clearly I had never drank 'enough' at all, since CDing is not necessarily a bad thing inherently.

Years and years ago I drank enough to develop a hollow leg. Seems I could drink endlessly and still keep my edge. Got me through several wars and near wars, and lots of post and pre-combat situations. More to the point, it dulled the sting of many terrible memories.
Nowadays, the hard stuff is a byproduct of bygone days. Anymore my drinking is limited to food/wine pairings, and I prefer to embrace dressing for the serenity it brings.

Ok I will give this thread a go. I am pretty much a social drinker, hardly ever drink by myself at home. When enfemme I will have a glass of wine with the wife. Male me can really over do it a bit when my two best buddies and I split a bottle of premium bourbon. So I guess that my drinking habits depend on how I am dressed. Who knew.

I sometimes have a drink or two while getting ready, but that depends on time of day I'm dressing I reckon. Now as far as going out the way I see it it's no different dressed than in drab, you have to be cognoscente of how much drink either way. I a lot of times go to the bar and shoot pool with some other girls I know, or we may just have a few drinks and talk. Anyway you slice it you have to control your alcohol intake but as long as you don't over do it I see no problem with drinking and dressing.

I do not dress while drinking, it takes a lot of concentration. Yet, on our Friday nights, we always crack wine. After a bottle, my SO went and got some out of the carton. She is a lot smaller than me and managed to fall and her earring put a nice slice in her ear. So, never over drink. It can be hazardous.

It does, but only in chronic drinkers. They get softer (yellowed) skin and body fat in the 'female places' (boobs, bum and thighs instead of tummy and moobs).
I see it occasionally at work, most of them will eventually die of liver failure.
To answer the OP.
Alcohol loosens me up - dressed or not.
But when I'm dressed and I have a drink, I'm definitely less reserved and I talk more. I gesticulate more in conversation.
I relax, I embrace my girl side more (or that's how it feels), I drop the male 'me' more easily and let Samantha take the helm for a bit.

Regardless of gender presentation, a drink or two a day happens, and my doctor has been telling me for years that a drink a day has shown to have positive medical benefits.
With that said, we couldn't let Tina drink just ordinary stuff of any kind, so we developed a drink for her, called "The Tina", and the first think she does is make one before she starts transition. That one will last quite a while and then we'll share another, or something else during our evening, but that's it. In all honesty, Tina is always too busy to drink very much. Her time is precious and is always a whirlwind of activity.

I drink a Martini before dinner every night, and a glass of red or white with dinner, irrespective of how I'm presenting. It's part of the routine which keeps me from eating my dinner out of the frying pan over the sink. However, I am very careful about alcohol consumption when I'm outside the house. Drinking, Dressing and Driving can be a very nasty combination. I'm pretty sure that in most states, short of vehicular homicide, the only offense that will get a person tossed into jail is driving under the influence, and it seems likely that being a transgender in a drunk tank is not likely to be a good experience. So, if you're heading out for some fun time at the local GNO, just remember to not get too carried away with the booze, or have a designated driver in the car. "All we need is a ten and a fiver, a fake I.D. and a sober driver, B Double-E Double-R U N Beerrun!"

I do enjoy my cocktails every evening, but when I used to go out dressed the rule was 2 and that's it. I didn't need a DWI while dressed. Not always easy though. A few years back I went to a lesbian bar where I was made very welcome. I had my 2 and switched to O'Douls. I was just starting to feel pretty mellow too. Better safe than sorry. 😀

I'm kinda like Kandi here. I drink less when I'm me, maybe because I'm more myself and comfortable. (Or maybe it's because I don't want to mess up my girlish figure? Oh, maybe as usual maybe Isha has it right-on -- it's tougher to get the nails and eyes right after a drinkie or two!)
Seriously, if I'm dressing and driving, the last thing I want to do is have alcohol increase the chance of a problem.
