My crossdressing style has evolved and I was wondering if others have taken the same path. I used to be only interested in skirts and dresses and the style I was striving for was kind of Ann Taylor type clothing. Never wanted to wear pants since I wear pants all the time and felt more the part in a nice dress and more passable. I wore hip pads and breast forms. My wife encourage me to try pants, jeans, leggings etc. I found that hey I looked half decent and maybe more passable. She was right again. Now she is saying forget the forms. Just be as you are and you look good. I must admit that that I had on boots, blue jeggins and a coral V neck sweater and wig and I did look alright. Kind of like the crossfit ladies. Can't and won't give up wig and make up. Have others done this. Just buy and wear women's clothes that match your body type and forget the enhancements?

Thanks

My hair is long enough to pass as a short Bob as it is and being new I don't have hip pads but my wife also has suggested for me to get rid of my forms but I just cant. I have absolutely no bust. And like you i won't give up my make up. But I know I have seen others dress in only wig and makeup and don't use forms of any type. I'd say do what makes you feel better and more comfortable.

Hey Karan, I've never owned any kind of forms, if anything I just wish I were slimmer than I am.

But I do admire the cleavage that some of the girls here manage to show- it does look great. My style, if you could call it that, was always leggings and clingy tops, but since Nikki became more real to me this summer I find myself wanting dresses.

My style has certainly evolved over the many years I've been dressing.
In my youth I would be described as an overdone French *****....now people tell me I look very natural. I've grown to be me, but with Mother Nature taking my hair I prefer my wigs and I don't feel natural without my forms. I've mostly given up the padded panties and though I still love "dressing up" I'm just as comfy "dressed down".

I am with you...I now own more pants and leggings than skirts...i like the way they look, and fit. I ditched my forms too...and opt for just a push up bra, thats it..JUST a push up bra...nothing in it. To me it is also more comfortable to dress like this and I'm all about that. If you are an active crossdresser I think we all mature and progress in our styles as we continue on our path....

I own exactly ONE dress. I do wear it (very) occasionally, but only when I'm in the mood to get all dolled up.
The look (and comfort) I generally go for is "early 30's normal woman." Lol ...usually just jeans or leggings with a nice top or t-shirt. I do own a padded shaper and a set of forms (larger than I wanted, but still within reason) that I wear now and then... but I usually opt for no shaper and one of my trusty push-ups. For the record, it is kinda annoying to have a separate selection of tops that you can only wear with the forms. Lol
I guess it's all about what you want your presentation to be and why you're dressing.

Depends on what you want. In many case the enhancements make or break the presentation. Depends a lot on the individual person really.:)

I like to dress the way I like women - the more feminine, the better! So it's dresses with stockings/tights for me every time.

Being a "leg man" I'm not that bothered about bras and forms, but this is OK as my slight man-boobs give me a little shape in that department. The way I see it is I dress to enjoy some feminity so I'm not intested in leggings, skinny jeans and such like. I doubt I ever will.

Karan,
Even without my wife's input I've tried to stay as natural as possible, only padding the bra enough to stay in balance without having to resort to extra padding !
I guess I'm lucky to fit a UK size 12 off the peg if I stay as I am ! If I do get out and about I'm sure I'll feel more comfortable like that because it's mostly natural !

I often wear leggings or skinny jeans, a pair of wedge boots either ankle or knee highs, and a long top. I'm a 14(UK) on the bottom half but 18(UK) on the top half. I don't wear forms, but do wear padded bras often, it's as much about the feel as the look to me. So it's about finding tops that don't accentuate my rugby player shoulders. I try to look as much like a normal woman here, not a hooker or a teenager going to a club - most of the time. I do wear mini skirts, but this time of year it's usually with thick tights, boots, etc.

Make-up, etc, one day I'll get it right.

Karan,

For me I want to just be able to wear Fem clothes with out worrying that it looks odd to others even it I don't have forms, or makeup on. For me this would be step one, I've been through the stage of if it isn't sexy then I won't wear it. Right now I want to just be able to wear clothing that has my Fem size on it instead of my male size. So the boots, jeggins and v-neck sweater I might be able to pull off given the right cut on the sweater and the boots weren't too tall. Oh, the longing.

My outings tend to be, either, the beach or the mall. As I try to blend in, if possible, dresses are pretty much out for the beach. At mall's where I live. women wearing dresses seems to be a rarity, as well. At the mall it is far more likely to see jeans, shorts, or leggings. So, my wardrobe consists of those things rather than dresses.

I prefer a bra with very minimal fiberfill (I can still create some cleavage) and I do not use forms. I don't own any hip pads, so I try to go as "natural" as possible. If my hair were long enough, I'd skip the wig, too. It is me, after all, so why not just be me?

I have also gone thru the acceptance of pants and like them, but I must wear forms. I like the look and feel.

Pants/trousers do nothing for me. Especially being overweight. They'd probably make me look even more pregnant.

I like the way my legs look, however, so I prefer skirts.

Heck, I don't even like t-shirts with my jean skirts. My tops also have to look girlier.

You cannot forget the enhancements if you want to be serious.

For me, style started with what I could buy on the sly and not feel embarassed, something that was just a quick in and out of a store where people did not speak English on a side of town that I did not live in. Most of the stuff was HIDEOUS!!!!! Next came internet shopping and I mostly bought stripper stuff. As my confidence grew I spent more time looking and browsing through clothes at resale and department stores. It is still skirts and dresses all the way for this girl!

I've gone back and forth with this over the years and have decided I like both. Sometimes I use enhancements, working hard to find ways to give myself extra curves that I don't have. Other times I thrive on the challenge of finding clothes that enhance my body as is. I get the most satisfaction when I appear feminine without enhancements, but also enjoy the extra boost I get using them.

I started with leftover unwanted clothing, mostly office and formalwear, so my CD experiences generally revolve around those. When and if I go out I would have to settle for shorts over opaque tights, a pretty common look where I live among women (girls?) of my age. The top is a difficult choice though. Wore a skirt as a minidress over shorts before, but the tights felt very much out of place.

Hi Karan, I have some in medium length and some in ladies tall foe when I'm wearing 4" & 5" heels
I like when the pant leg just shows the tip of the heel & toe of the hi-heel.

I'm with you on the pants (jeans) as being more passable, especially in cooler weather because jeans are much more common around here than skirts or dresses. I'm not with you or your wife on the lack of forms or butt/hipp padding.

Almost all women have breasts and hips that are larger than their waist. This is one of the signs we associate with being female.

It's your choice of course but take some photos both ways and be realistic.
