There are many places. Claire's in any mall, for example. I had it done in the salon where I have my hair cut (but you can't...it's in Virginia:bs:). Seriously though, many people suggest that you go to a tattoo or piercing parlor. They are licensed and inspected and insured. They do lots of piercings. I think that if I were to do it again, I'd probably do it that way.

A lot of regular jewelry stores will do it as well.

Had mine done at Claires, if there is one near you I recommend them, reliable and very reasonably priced

I had mine pierced at Claires, it's in the mall, and the staff is usually tyounger girls, who don't bat an eye at guys getting both ears pierced.

Had mine done at Icing by Claire, almost the same as Claire's (same company) but fewer teenagers were in the store. Both stores are in the same mall and it seems most of the younger girls are at Claire's.

Note that the piercing chair is usually up front near the door or picture window. So if you are shy about having so many people going by then you might want to go with a tattoo/piercing parlor. Make sure they are licensed.

And it did take a little more than 6 weeks for my ears to heal.

I had mine done at Claire's. I did both lobes and cartilage in one ear at the same time.
I caught my left lobe when cleaning it and it swelled up enough it was almost pulling the small stud through. I went back to see if I could put a hinged hoop in to let the swelling go down and they gave me a pair for free.

If (nah! WHEN) I decide to put a second set in then I'll be going back to them.

Joanne.

Had mine done the first time at the piercing pagoda kiosk in my local mall. Did my third one myself (I've got one in the right, and two in the left) with the training studs I bought there.

It seems nuts to me to trust a person without much training, using one of those stupid, unsterile piercing guns. I've heard many horror stories. Go to a professional piercing/tattoo shop.

The gun used at Claires is steril. I've had no problems with infentions.
