I had a great Christmas

I know this is a hard time of year for some of us and i'm sorry about that. But I had one of my best Christmas's ever and wanted to share it.

I had family stay over for three days and on Christmas Eve we walked to our local pub and met a load of friends, some I hadn't seen since last New Years and they was saying how much better and more relaxed I looked. One guy gave me a huge hug and kiss on the cheek and said how proud he was. It was a great night with so much support and love from my friends it was so lovely.
Nice to get appropriate Christmas presents too, I must say it is going well and i'm started to see that I do have a lot of support and good friends and family. I had another friend let me down recently, but in the scheme of things I have been lucky.

I have gained some positive reactions at work with a few texts of support and although next year is going to be tough going fulltime, I think i'm ready now though, mentaly.
Helps that I have my hair transplant in Feb that feels like a very definate leap forward.

Bring on 2015 :)

I'm happy for you Becky. Because of the support you're getting from your friends and family, I know you will be ok. I found, and I hope you will to, that coming out "to the world" is easier than coming to friends and to those that knew you before your transition began. It does get easier with time. Thank you, though 2015 hasn't started great as my Sister-in-law died over the weekend. On the one hand my manager now knows and he seems ok with it, on the other I have a family funeral to deal with.
Always seems to be a good then bad.
I have a HR meeting regarding transition at work to attend and my emotions are pretty raw right now, you have to love the timing!

Sorry to hear about your sister-in-law. There never is a good time for these things. Unfortunately all you can do is try to take them in your stride (easier said than done -I know). Sometimes it helps to just "let it all out" to someone whom you trust. They don't necessarily need to be able to give you advice, just to give you the space to safely 'vent' and recover.
Your manager's attitude sounds like good news. Hopefully your meeting with HR will go smoothly.
