Last night the wife and i are sitting watching Property Brothers on HGTV. Some remark is made in the show to the effect that it would take a man to do it.
Wife looked up from her paper, and remarked that " that seems easy, you could to it....but you are not a man" I looked at her, and I guess my eyes bugged out a bit, and she stammered that the thought just came to her, and she just said what popped into her mind.
I walked over to her and kissed her.
It has been three years since this all started for me, and there have been ups and downs with my wonderful wife, but she stuck by me. Over the past 6 months or so we have gone out many times together as Barb and wife. Daughter has gone to a Chi Chapter meeting with us.
It is nice to feel that I am becoming an integral part of my wife's thought process and she is becoming more at ease with my being a woman.
Hugs to all,
Barbara

That's a pretty remarkable change.congratulations to both of you! It's been something to witness over these few years. I imagine experiencing her growing acceptance has felt amazing.

Unless we're talking fathering a child or writing your name in the snow, I don't think there are tasks that it would take a man to do. Granted, some women are not strong enough to do some tasks by themselves but there are also men not strong enough.
Of course with a lifetime of being a man and doing "manly" things, it's often easier or more natural for a man to do some things but if a woman had the same background she could do them as well.

So Krisi, I see you are still just as quick to put people down under the guise of a "reality check". When are you going to make a positive contribution in the Transsexual Forum?

Excuse me Krisi for ignoring the obvious blatant sexist remark from the tv show and wanting to focus on something reaffirming to the transexual community that there are wives who can be accepting of a husband of 44 years undergoing transition. two years on HRT, and three sessions of full facial electro over the last three months. Neither of us has any idea where this will end, but she is with me by my side, and that is what is really important here. There is hope for those who are still struggling with the decisions.

Your wife's attitude is so wonderful, Barbara Ella. Most of us can only dream of such acceptance. You must have done something really right.

This is really cool, Barbara. You are, after all, not a man and although you're wonderful wife's words may have seemed to carry meaning that wasn't really there .. her reaction show just how much she cares for you. I wish you both well on the journey you both are travelling.

Barbara,You have come a long way since your "questioning" days !! I am so glad your family has decided to "go with it" rather than "abandon ship". I hope you enjoy another good year of building acceptance!

Wow! From being the first to welcome me to this forum, taking baby steps, to full out sprinting, you and your wife are doing so well...together. Have a healthy, happy New Year. Who knows where you will be in 2015 but I hope we get to go along for the trip.

Barbara,
Your story is inspiring to all. It's reassuring to hear stories of acceptance. It gives hope to what would otherwise be a huge unknown.

You are very fortunate, Barbara. You should let her know regularly that you love her because she sounds like a special woman.
