Hey everyone. I've posted some lately about a little confusion and some conflict in Maine decision within myself. Since then I've had a stroke of luck that I found a very nice therapist who does except Medicaid. Unfortunately that is my only insurance while I'm between jobs right now. We just had our first counseling session which already feels like a huge relief. Looking forward to many more and getting a little further than just the introductions to go into initial visits with the therapist. I found out that I do have a solid job offer to begin in February at which point I will hopefully have a benefit package insurance allows me to see someone specifically for gender issues. But in the meantime it's nice to talk and sort through everything with a therapist even if he's not specialized and gender issues. he has graciously offered to do research himself and confer with colleagues who are specialized in that area to be of more help to me I feel very lucky right now and very relieved to start making progress. I appreciate everyone's support here and wanted to share the good news however small it may be.

You have been fortunate in finding a therapist willing to do some research and consultation with peers...not to suggest that he is the exception, but it speaks well of his ability and willingness to learn. Good luck with the new job!

Glad you've got some positive progress to prepare you for the New Year. Even if your therapist isn't well versed in Gender issues, it says a lot that he is willing to learn in order to help you. :bighug:
