Julie said that 'transvestite' (TV) is an older term for CD but now it is used in conjunction with fetishistic and refers to someone who focuses on one or two items for sexual arousal. But that's me !! So according to Julie I'm not a CD at all, and I don't belong here.

But hang on, Websters says transvestite (noun) is a person who adopts the dress or manner of the opposite sex (synonym crossdresser), and transvestite (adj) refers to receiving sexual gratification from wearing the clothes of the opposite sex. Freesearch says a transvestite is a man who wears the clothes of the opposite sex, often for sexual pleasure. Maybe I'm a transvestite crossdresser and I'm still in with a chance...... :)

You all know my preferences and a bit about my sexual pleasuring, so the big question is DO I BELONG HERE ?? :o

Please do the poll. In the event of dead heat I suppose our moderator will have to adjudicate. HELP !!!!

I wanted to vote I don't give a damn, cause it sounded so good. But in truth, you do belong here.
It is I, who does not belong here.

Bless you, guv!
I don't mind if you stay either, even if you do like to go topless.

I did vote "I don't give a damn" because I really don't. Am I gald you are here Crispy - yes and I enjoy reading your posts. Am I going to go into "Crispy withdrawl" because you are not here - NO!

If you want to stay that is fine and dandy but you if you feel the need to leave, it is no sweat off my back.

Crispy...

I voted for you to stay because I don't care about 'labels' and 'definitions.'

And I like your posts too.

We're all here because we feel the pull...the undeniable, unstoppable pull to wear women's clothes. Once we're dressed, some of us do the laundry, or make a spice rack. Others jack off. Who cares?

Labels are just another way of dividing people. Let's all stay together instead.

Crispy,

You belong, Hon, you belong.

My statement you quoted was what I was told by a gender specialist. It's just a current classification of the different aspects of crossing the gender lines. We aren't the ones with problems, our society is the one with all the hangups. So the psychological community is faced with the challenge to try to teach us how to cope with their hangups. To do this they use classifications to help them help us.

I say, "Who cares?" I am not hung up on anyone falling into a specific classification. When you say you fall into the fetishistic transvestite classification all that does is help me understand you better. The better I understand you the better I can get to know you. And the better I know you the better the chance we can enrich each other's lives.

When I was in therapy Wednesday I saw a path laid before me. It was marked "Transsexual". It scared me. Am I a TS? I don't know but I think I will find out. The title of this forum is "Crossdressers" but there's a section specifically for transsexuals. I have labeled myself transgendered but there is no section for that. Maybe I don't belong (no, you're not getting rid of me that easily). If I find I am a TS do I only get to post in the TS section. I know I'm rambling but do you see what I'm saying?

You're contributions are what really matters and you contribute mahhhhvaaalously. So no more of this silly talk! Do you hear me?

Amelie,

First, I love your new avatar. I had to read your name before I knew it was you but the pic is oh so cool!

A lot of what I said to Crispy applies to you too. I know you're not thinking of leaving, you're too strong a person. But I just wanted to take the time to say you're an important part of this group. You've got such a great head on you're shoulders that many times makes me put my head on straighter. (That sentence is full of weird images! Beetlejuice anyone?)

What I'd like to see is better participation form those who come here, read, take what they absorb and leave. They contribute nothing. Over 3700 members and a full third have never posted a single message. That's sad.

So girls, bury any thoughts of leaving. If you know me, you know I'll hunt you down if you try to leave. Then I'll talk your ear off..... and you don't want that!

well said. I don't make spice racks and never do the laundry (dressed or undressed, or even under-dressed). But I don't feel quite so guilty now..... !! Thanks :)

I don't look at the forums for a few days and this is what I come back to!? Ag nee a! Crispy, I have to agree with Julie on this one, ve vill hunt you down! Ja, ve vill! Make no mistake! (imagine the bad German accent ...)

LOL. Don't worry about labels. My therapist on Wednesday labeled me as an autogynophilliac, but not TS. I was in a bit of a state of shock so I didn't respond. But I have a few choice words for him at our next session ...

:D

Lots of love,
Vicky!

of course you belong, not everyone has the same motivations for dressing. Just cause your motivations might differ from me or whoever doesnt take away your right to be here. Also, and I dont know if I'm correct on this, but I have read somewhere that transvestite is latin translation for crossdresser. Is that so? I dont know a damn thing about latin though so I could be way off lol. :) anyways, i see absolutley no reason for you to feel like you shouldnt be here. Please dont go.

Crispy (and Amelie)

I had similar questions but got so much love and reassurance when I asked them, I'm never leaving here! Now don't be leaving.

"New" language takes a while to settle down in to universally accepted definitions. This is certainly true of most of the trans- words. The dictionay has a definition, the medics another, and we have ours. One take on it can be found at http://ftmichael.tashari.org/trans101.html

I am still waiting for them to come up with a term for those of us who feel that our gender includes both male and female elements.

LovePlease, please, please... everyone... just take a few minutes to read Trans 101 http://ftmichael.tashari.org/trans101.html . All of your confusion on "labels" and "Where do I fit in?" will be answered at this incredibly concise and informative site.

Just delete "transvestite" from your vocabulary... it's archaic, carries negative connotations and "TV" is an electronic box with lame sitcoms and too many commercials!

Crispy... you are a crossdresser... possibly a fetishtic crossdresser... and definitely a "drama queen" ! ! ! ---> :p

Love ya ! ! !

I don't care about semantics and even if you didn't belong here (which you both totally do!) I'd hate to see you leave! You both make me laugh out loud and give great advice - you girls are part of the reason why this forum is so great!

Besides, I can't take on all the smiley spanking duties by myself - what would THEY think if you left................ :( ....See? If nothing else, do it for the smileys' sake:p

Regardless why or how long you wear the opposite gender's garments, I would put you in the CD category. I use mine for sexual purposes about 10 to 20 percent of the time. I just enjoy lounging around in the most feminine clothes I have but I'm hetero, I know I am A CD but I'm still in the closet.

Jen, you sussed me out.
I'm just having too much fun on this forum to go anywhere. :D
To think that a few short months ago I felt permanently ashamed, mainly because of the constant disapproval from the SO. Now I have been able to put it all into perspective, because of all you sweet girls, and I enjoy, enjoy, enjoy.
Thanks for all the lovely messages, girls. Love y'all to bits. :)

Your a man you wear a dress and skirts. So you crossdress!
You belong here. The world would be a better place if more men wore dresses.

It would be a better place if more women wore dresses too.

Lets ban trousers and all wear skirts men and women alike.

Crispy stays.

Crispy. The mere fact that you only underdress in private and for your own special reasons does not "disqualify" you. The fact is, you do crossdress and this is a forum for crossdressers. You are obviously not here to satisfy some perverse cyber fantasy and you do not post anything obscene/lude/rude and you don not go out of your way to offend anybody.

You are welcome here.

xoxo, Lawren
