Wish me luck, just left the hotel! Headed to the mall, then to the airport.

Short mall trip went just fine, new concealer and foundation from the cosmetics store. One or two kiosk guys called out to me "sir, sir come look", a confused look here or there, but the SA was very sweet!
Taxi drivers no problems either. Now of to visit TSA.

Went through TSA precheck line, nothing eventful. Wendy's burger with a little line. Companion restroom. Just another travel day, I know I'm not fooling anyone, just enjoying being myself dressed how I want.

Just to keep the play by play going...
Exiting my first segment I had to get my suitcase from the overhead 2 seats behind. Two nice businessmen got it out of the overhead, amd commented how heavy it was. I just said thank you, and exited. Mostly I'm feeling tired, not excited, but definitely more comfortable than I would in a suit.
Now my next segment is first class. Time for a drink!

And... home. Tired, but I think I'll continue my adventure, my first full day en femme, with dinner then a game of pool at my favorite TG bar in San Diego!
Thanks girls for your support to get here!

Jamie

Congrats Jamie, enjoy the dinner, you earned it. Travel is a pain not matter how you're dressed.

Hi Jamie,
Congrats . . . I found flying "en femme" one of the biggest thrills. You got it right in that once you throw off the shackles of "caring if people read you" . . . it makes for a much more enjoyable time.

Ahh your so lucky! I would love a chance to fly anywhere considering I have never been on a plane before. I bet it feels so liberating to get to do it while en femme! I'm so peanut butter and jealous! :)

Did showing ID pose any problem or additional scrutiny?

None whatsoever. But I do use the precheck line so its much easier then regular security lines, don't have to unpack your laptop, don't have to take off your shoes, etc. And I'm sure the security folks as LAS have seen it all before.
I also wore very light foundation, no eye makeup, no bra/forms.
By the way both LAS and SAN airports have separate unisex/family restrooms. LAX has them but inside the entry to the mens/womens rooms.

It is all in a days travel experience. I have been flying pretty for years both before 9/11 and after. Sometimes there is a little confusion and some days go great just like you have explained, Jamielynn. Just prepare yourself for a little hassel because of it. When it doesn't happen, its a great day. Most airports have a world of experience with us. Even when the security level gets increased. Do not try to show a fake ID. Show your proper ID and all will be good.

Have fun Donna! Don't overdress - remember it's still just travel, lots of walking, dragging bags to eternity, lots of bright lighting so blend as best you can. Every now and then I see GG's flying in heels, dress, etc., looking perfect and while I admire them I'm certain I wouldn't want to be in heels at the airport! Now I'm off to a mani pedi pretty.
