I've been getting a little braver lately, and am starting to work feminine clothes into my everyday wear. For a a few years now, I've been underdressing, especially tights and leotards on cold days, but I'm talking about visible clothing now. I was working from home yesterday, so I decided to put on a pair of my ladies Levi skinny jeans. They're very comfortable, and about my only complaint is the tiny front pockets.

Near the end of the day, I was bending over, and my wife who was behind me was somewhat shocked, "What are you wearing? Are those new?" "No, I've had them for a few years," I answered. "They look like my jeans. Are those skinny jeans?" "Yes, they are skinny jeans but they're mine," I replied. She shook her head, "Are you turning into a hipster?" and with a grin "Are you going to grow a handlebar moustache?" I laughed and said "Maybe!" Finally she asked me to spin around so she could get a good look and then said, "They look good on you." I don't know if she realized they were womens jeans or now.

I found this scenario to be an interesting contrast with the time I wore the black, mens dress shirt and she thought it was a blouse. Now, I was actually wearing womens clothing and she thinks I look like a hipster. :-D

So, is there a fine line between hipster and crossdresser? Maybe we are the vanguard of hipsterness?

Not a fine line, but a broad blurry border region. The Hipster style is kind of a "I do what I want to, just like all the other Hipsters" thing. If you care to identify with them, fine. If not, that's OK too.

I like it......sure hipsters wear tight pants, i think that actually helps us , cause we can do a good job blending, sometimes i wear wedge high tops, skinny jeans, a tee, and a flannel, with a beenie, no makeup.....i am pretty much dressed like a girl.....but without the makeup i look like i play guitar in some band from williamsburg brooklyn....not too sure if a handlebar mustache is YOUR look though......
