Ok so i am freaking out about how my hair is going to look when it grows in. Ive been growing it out for 3 months or so and its starting to get to where i want it to be. Which is great! Buuuuuuutttttt.... I have a pretty pronounced widows peak. I put some mousse in and tried to do a little styling and it just looked ridiculous... Now im losing my my mind worrying that the hormones arent going to cause regrowth in that area. And seeing that hair transplants isnt really ithe books financially for me Im pretty depressed. I know most of my posts on here are upbeat and positive but thats just not how i am feeling today. Other than that the HRT is going great! My skin is MUCH softer and I am quite a bit calmer! Just thought i would share, hope you all have a great rest of the day!

Hi Jessika,

Unfortunately I don't think HRT will grow your widows peak back in. Some hair growth is possible, but if it's very pronounced area it might be a bit more difficult.

Maybe a pro stylist would be able to offer some suggestions, check around your local gay district as chances are it's nothing new for them :)

Since you are in south Dakota, finding a gay district might be kinda hard. One of the best ways to find some help is to check with any trans support group that may be around to see if they have listings for trans-friendly salons.

Without seeing your hairline it's hard to make recommendations, but there are styling solutions to a pretty shocking array of "problems". :)

Definitely find a good stylist, and definitely ask for help. Don't get too discouraged - there are GGs out there with every issue you can imagine. For example, Alyson Hannigan's hairline is not actually that different from mine, although I'm missing the fairly light bit of coverage she has in the temples. That mostly just means I stay away from really deep parts.

I found that I could use a shorter wig or hairpiece to fill in the top and front and use my real hair for the back and sides. I color my hair to match the wig and brush them so that they blend with each other. A really good beauty shop that does hair enhancements can often make some great recommendations. I never leave the house or hotel room without my wig on, and at this point, it's just natural. I have been considering a weave, but I like that I can sleep on my hair and not have to worry about messing up the weave. I'll be looking into it again soon.

I agree with the hairstylist. I have a decent head of hair. I have thinned some on top and the hairline pulled back a little. So, as a rule, I always style it with at least some of the hair coming forward or sweeping across my forehead. No biggie. We really get worked up on our hair, but I have friends and coworkers with very high hairlines and hair so thin, you can see every bit of their scalp. They are still beautiful. What they do is use what they got.
