I spend way too much time in Las Vegas for a guy who doesn't like to gamble, drink, or sit around and eat but LV is conference central so I visit frequently. I posted pictures about my most recent visit here: http://www.crossdressers.com/forums/showthread.php?225743-Leaving-Las-Vegas-and-the-Go-To-dress

Vegas (the Strip) in the day time is 99.8% super casual, almost sloppy attire (shorts & Tshirts) on the street or in the Casinos. 0.2% are the business travelers forced into suits and office skirts/blouses. I was really looking and I didn't see one, not one summer dress and a large percentage of men were wearing tank tops, almost wife-beaters! Who does that anywhere? The men were especially grungy.

When I'm done with work and working out, I like to people watch. Vegas is a fun place to do that. At night, an interesting dichotomy occurs. 85% are still sloppy, sad. 10% are now represented In business suits now that the conferences are done and the final 5%, however, are now dressed to the nines. Sequins, heels, bling and usually short dresses are seen in any major Casino. They are the minority by far, but not out of place. It's sort of expected so few notice. Now, these women are going somewhere, they are not walking the street but dressed to kill for sure.

So what? Well, if you ever wanted to get out, Vegas is a place you can do this but if you're planning on being a day walker, leave the dress on the hanger, unless you want to be noticed. No one will give you a hard time but you will be the only one in that dress. Even a skirt is a rarity although I did see a few denim skirts during my stay. Shorts and a Tshirt are the uniform. But at night, anything goes. Cut loose and have a ball. Staff at all the major resorts will treat you well.

I love Vegas for going out even though I only did it once lol, but your so right its fun and a great place to feel comfortable dressed as long as you stay in common areas.
Nobody pays much attention and besides inside the casinos its always low light so its hard to really notice.

Ok, so what would be the ideal GNO with the wife in Vegas in mid April? Just one night.

That's just individual choice. There is a Beatles tribute band playing, Motown tributes, Cirque du Soleil, concerts, it's all good. The sun goes down about 6:30 PM and the nightlife starts about 8. Stay on th strip and have fun

I noticed the same thing when I was there during the NBA all-star game. The women were tricked (can I say that?) out to the max....guys were in the basketball outfits

In about 10 days there will be somewhere between 80 and 150 (who really knows) Trans* people there for Diva Las Vegas. I've been going for 15 years and it's always been a great time, day or night. Members of our group have been welcome everywhere from the casinos, shops, museums and resturants to golf courses and the shooting range.

Jennifer is 100% on the money about how people tend to dress. I do like to go to the big hotels where there is a convention, just so I don't stand out just because I'm wearing a skirt. And a great and very interesting place to just hang out to watch people is just outside one of the "hot" nightclubs where everyone is lined up to get in. I'm amazed at the number of varieties of the Little Black Dress that can be seen in those lines.

There are to different lifestyles in Las Vegas.

Daylight and dark.

When I visit New York, I say it's great to visit but I wouldn't live there.

When I visit Vegas the stay is never long enough.

A playground for adults.......

A "bit" understated I think.

I love Vegas and can't wait to return. :)

Tourists and sloppy seem to go hand in hand. I suppose it's understandable to some degree.

Jennifer I am like you, I like to get out, sight see and people watch. But for sure not a bar fly or big into parties. It would be fun to dress casual and get out and see the sights, and follow it up by a semi-formal dinner date. Maybe some day if the planets align just right I will get the chance to experience a weekend from the eyes of Erica.

I spent last week in Vegas myself. I wore dresses every day, (didn't even bring any pants) and compared to most others, I was way overdressed. But I certainly wasn't the only one. I saw lots of skirts and dresses. Vegas is sort of "anything goes."
