Wig color query

I am trying to decide on a new wig, I know the style that I weant but am baffled by the descriptions. They must all mean something but what is the difference between tipped , frosted, high lights, mix and blend?

Go to a local wig shop and ask for advice I did I had a hard time myself picking out colors till I got advice. Try it its worth it. :D

Angela's advice makes great sense and I'd love to do that, it just has to be the best way to be able to go and try different wigs on; but I'm not sure I've got the nerve to go in and do it. I recently bought a couple of wigs from Ebay only to discover that neither suits me, complete waste of money! Good luck.
