Sooo, I am off to Thailand next month to see Dr. Chettawut.
I was wondering if anyone here has been to him that may be able to talk to me about your experience there?

As you know, Drs. Chettawut and Suporn both have very good worldwide reputations. If you search their names here and on the web you will find some pros and cons about both, just as you will find pros and cos about Dr. Marcie Bowers and everyone else. Unfortunately, the web tends to amplify the cons way more than the pros so you always have to keep in mind that these doctors do hundreds and hundres of these surgeries every year.
A most interesting and positive video about the Thailand experience can be found here (Click here, contains audio) (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=10Isi71LMS4).
Hugs,
Persephone.

Thank you. I have looked at a lot of information in regards to Chettawut and the other Thai surgeons, the good and the bad. I feel I have made a reasonable choice.
My hope is to talk to someone who has been there that can share more details of the what it is like through recovery at the clinic post op and also was they are moved to the hotel. This is the part that worries me the most as I will be traveling alone.

Thank you Victoria,
I am not able to PM you as you do not have enough posts yet to activate your PM privileges. I do really want to talk to you though if you have been to Chettawut.

Arbon,
There have been several threads in the far past here that discussed some of the Thai doctors, including this one. Do a search and you will get some hopefully good information in addition with what others tell you now in this thread.

Hi Allie,
Yes I have gone through the past threads here and have been reading on other forums too. Most of the people that posted about Chettawut here are no longer active on the forum.

You have been here long enough to probably have read those old threads in their original form fresh off the typing fingers. I just wanted to reference it in case you did not. As with any doctor and any patient, our results may vary from the norm depending on the day, time of day, our own physical constitution and a host of other factors. From what I have read here, besides whether the doctor is qualified and does quality work, the difference may be in what approach/technique they use to get to the finished product and then their after care. I do wish you the best when you get over there and also hope to meet you on your next visit to the SF Bay area.

This is not necessarily a bad thing. Successful transition for some means leaving the cradle and living as a genetic woman does.
