Dreams do come true! I'm going to be a bridesmaid!

So my good GG friend Kim is getting married next year. Last night she asked me if I was interested in being a bridesmaid. My jaw hit the floor. Lol. Its one of Rachels dreams to be a bridesmaid in a wedding and I am actually going to be able to do it. I am on cloud nine. How did I get so lucky? Now to wait a whole year!

This is actually a truth, as I normally like to look at the lighter side of life. It reminds me of my brother-in-law who always has tales of how he just missed out on something, but how great it would have been had he succeeded. After much rambling by me, basically, the stock phrase for him is always the bridesmaid and never the bride. :devil:

Maybe you can accomplish both? Nice thought at least!

Congratulations Rachel! Asking someone to be a Bridesmaid is pretty much the highest compliment one woman can give another!

Lose any excess weight now and start saving up lots of money -- dresses, presents, and Bridal showers cost! Big time!

There will be things to do in the months leading up to the Wedding so it won't be a matter of waiting a whole year.

And you can't do the guy thing and wait 'til the last minute to get ready; finding, trying on, and altering your dress takes time! Could be up to a couple of months!

It's a lot more than just standing there, so be ready! And enjoy!

The closest I came was being a witness on behalf of the bride in a small civil ceremony, many years ago when I was still deep in the closet. That bride has since joked that I was her maid of honor. (if only) :)

Many years ago I had that dream too. I wanted to be a bridesmaid so bad that I bought several bridesmaids dresses and pretended that I had ben asked to be in my best friend's wedding. It never came about, so I am so thrilled to here about someone having this awesome experience.

Its good to have open and accepting friends. I have to say this takes the cake though. How many would dream to have a chance like this. However, on the flip side being a cross dresser. Many of us are still hiding out in the closet, and scared to show our beautiful faces to the world. I applaud your bravery to take this step and make it a reality! I would love to say I would jump at the chance, but I'm not fully out. I don't think I would be able to do it. It sounds like it would be a wonderfully feminine adventure!
