Our member,Julie Gaum has survived the VA and rehab. At 90 something, she is back home with her hair up in rollers for the first time! lol Living her TG life backwards I think! I need to share that when she blacked out and fell a month ago,she had "gel nails" that the emergency room was not allowed to see! So,in her injured state[from the fall],while bleeding, she cleaned her feminine nails off! After all,she says that the theme of the VA is to "soldier up" and not let any small pains affect you! Anyway,I hope Julie post here cause she is up to it yet again!

That's great news. LOL I could see her doing that in the ambulance with the cotton and nail polish remover.

Julie was always nice to me and always had a nice word to say to everyone.
She really helped me to understand lots of things about our CD world.
I'm so happy she is doing better I miss her.

Rogina,
Thanks for the update. Which hospital was she in? I live a spit and holler from her and I have a land line (never looked, but should be). Would love to visit her, if she is willing to receive me. If you would be so kind, PM me with details. Oh, yes, I am also a veteran, and in the process of transitioning, Thanks for any help you can give.

First, thank you dear friends for your good wishes. Can't say I'm back yet but hopefully within next few weeks, The hospital was the West Palm Beach VA medical Center. Supposed to be receiving four visits fron PT personnel this week but put it off a week. After all after months in drab, a messed up apartment, 3000+ unread e-mails, two USPS carrier boxes full of mostly junk mail and an average of 2 hours sleep a day a girl has to re-emerge. albeit briefly. Haven;t cut hajir this year so thanks to genes from my mother lots of curly hair. Had some mousse and curlers along with a blow dryer - result a mess! So if I can handle it Thursday off to a pro for a wash, cut and style. A private thing to share: At 90 one encounters few experiences to bring on a rush but with hair down to shoulders and rolling it up made me feel so very feminine -enjoy what I can while I can. Npw back to the mundane tasks around me.
Love you all
Julie

I'm glad to see that Julie is back home, that always feels good, Recover rapidly Julie (I understand that rapidly at 90 is different than rapidly at a younger age).

Hi Julie, you don't know me, but I just had to chime in on this thread.
All I can say is first, I am glad you are on the mend after your fall, and secondly at 90, your are an inspiration.
And absolute proof that this thing of ours never goes away.
God bless you,
Tina

P.S. We are almost neighbors, as I am only about 45 minutes north of you.

You don't know me either Julie, but I wish you all good wishes, and that the thrill of dressing never leaves, as it obviously doesn't.
