View Full Version : business trip thoughts/experiences for me this week

so this week has been interesting for me. I'm away from home on a business trip, as is normal i bring only normal clothing and think nothing about that as i'm closeted and new enough to accepting dressing that i don't really do it that often. however i find myself sitting in my hotel room with nothing to do but browse the web, draw in a sketchbook, or read graphic novels. Out of the blue i'm hit by this idea that i need some heels, i don't know why and i don't know any women who just get this urge to just feel like they "need" some random article of clothing. there is a payless in the strip mall next to my hotel but i resist that urge as i have no where to store them and i came up here with someone from work so i don;t really want to have any kind of weird conversations.

then this evening we were out getting dinner and as we are getting our bills they seat two kind of cute ladies across the isle, my eyes as they are want to do when i see ladies of what appear to by my age i see what they are wearing. They had some cute print leggings on that in the mood i'm in made me a little jealous that i don't have anything that nice nor do i wear anything like that in public. they are talking to the waitress and their voices are a little low and she seems to know them pretty well so they must be locals. the one gets up to go to the restroom when i notice that one appears to have an adams apple. so now i was also jealous that not only did she have nice leggings, a companion, but a nice body and confidence in public.

who knows what the rest of the week will bring but it definitely gives me more to think about, perhaps i'm not as settled with where i am as i thought, or maybe its just a passing feeling from being away and a little bored.

I would have bet money that 100% of cross dressers dressed when traveling on business. Particularly those who are closeted!!

You proved me wrong. Now make sure to pack better next time!

Yes, I did many times. What a rush. Not working full time, so no more trips, sighhh.

Totally agree, one of my first real shopping adventures was on a business trip. Work
clothes, play clothes............ Enjoy!!

I usually dressed when going out at night on business trips if I was solo.

I think you are experiencing what many of us call "Pink Fog." It is a time when our feminine/crossdressing feelings bubble to the surface and we see everything through that lens.

And seeing one of us "in the wild," out and having a good time, would certainly sharpen that focus!

Pink Fog episodes come and go, and yes, "being away and a little bored" can make it much more demanding. If you have the opportunity you will probably feel better if you engage in a bit of shopping and/or private crossdressing.

Enjoy!

Hugs,
Persephone .

persephone i didn't look at my thread until just now, but i ended up going for a walk after getting out of training early and in the shopping center next door there was a comic book shop and payless shoes. I ended up going into both and buying stuff. I now have another pair of heels different from any other which i am now wearing in the comfort of my room and surfing the web and reading my new comics. definitely makes me feel more comfortable in general and the fog less pressing. and to the rest of you thanks for your comics i guess i will have to pack a little differently in the future as i never know whats going to happen and might end up with down time again.

Don't know how I'd manage without the occasional business trip :o . The trick is to not have work colleagues tagging along. Sometimes that is easier said than done.

Definitely sounds like a lost opportunity. Pack the bag always, if only with night wear...unless sharing a room that is. Sharing is my ultimate horror...aaaah!

I'm lucky enough to travel to head office once a month and get a hotel stop over for four nights,...on my own. I make sure of that by booking hotels the others don't use, about 7 miles away from work. I've brought a full sports bag with my girl works in it, plus dress, jacket and shoes. Just to top it off, the room is epic too.

Like now, it's a great opportunity to put on a nightie and dressing gown and chill out on the forum. :daydreaming:

Always packed a set of my feminine wear when on a business trip. In addition I always wear femme undies and nightwear. Once I travelled on an overnight train in Norway and slept in a lovely red gown. Several miles before arriving in Oslo, the door opened and the conductor poked his head in to let me know we were nearing our destination. I was standing in my cabin in my lovely dusty rose nightie. I often wondered what he told his friends about that experience. On the other hand he probably had many interesting surprises over the years and this one just passed him by.

I had to giggle at your instance of 'pink fog". I'm glad you ended up at the Payless downstairs, despite your reservations. Happy dressing.

My wardrobe for a business trip is one suit, two shirts, two ties, and five dresses. Any time I'm not doing business stuff, I'm doing girl stuff. Of course, that's the way things are when I'm home, too.

I know severa GGs who get the urge to buy shoes and just act on it. Seems like a normal thing to me.

Just remember when your out on a business trip and you have fellow coworkers with you. If you go shopping try going to stores that allow items to be gift wrapped. Of course your gift wrapping it for the special someone in your life, You! :)
This just gives you an extra excuse if they ask you about it. Your fellow coworkers may see through it, but can't really tell if it's for you or someone else.

Business trips are my primary outlet for dressing up. I always have a room to myself, but I'm usually at a conference site where other work colleagues and business associates are staying. So my dressing is restricted to the room. Once, I did get to go out dressed, when I was able to get dressed and deconstruct back again offsite, through the courtesy of a dear forum sister who escorted me on my big outing. I'd love to do that again ... ;

i'm glad that perhaps i've inspired others. i had the bags from the comic shop as a cover just in case, my coworker was sick with a cold so he didn't really leave his room other than for our work training. since i'm closeted anyway i wasn't going anywhere.
