I hope this is the right forum???

I saw my endo on Friday. My testosterone was at 5 ml and my estrogen was at 122 ml. She said the previous estrogen level was 132 but it went down because my body is not making enough testosterone for the spiro to translate into estrogen anymore.

I think that means that on a hormonal level I am officially a woman. Next step, when I can afford it is LHR and then FFS. Oooh, and I need to get my name changed. But how to do it? I'm in California.

Very happy. So happy I took my first selfie ever and put it on facebook. Though I have to say that I don't think I know how to do selfies.

Congrats to you. Perhaps you can change your name to vetobobbie or something. I can't help you with Cali as I did mine in VA.

Congraulations on your progress! Never heard of Spiro translating T into E but whatever.

Name (and gender change) are pretty straightforward in California. The Transgender Law Center (http://translaw.wpengine.com/issues/id/id-please) has a wonderful downloadable guide to California and federal name and gender change.

After reading it I was still a bit nervous about doing it myself so I found the EZ Name Change service (https://eznamechange.com/). They were wonderful, well worth their small fee. They prepared the documents for me and guided me through every step of the process. Being local, they even told me which window of the clerk's office to go to (that bit of information saved me a half-hour of waiting in the more popular wrong line!). Highly recommended!

Good luck on your journey!

Hugs,
Persephone.
