Yet another 'I went out and nothing happened' post I am afraid.
Except that there was a first for me!
My wife and I went out for lunch and followed this up with a spot of shopping (I am in dire need of some more casual tops for winter).

Anyway I have shopped dressed before and I have even bought some items before when dressed, but these were all small things (bras, panties etc). I have never tried anything on in a fitting room.
Even when in male mode I prefer not to try on, but buy off the shelf.

Only problem is I am less sure of what works for me en femme and we found some very nice and well priced stuff in Mr Price. This shop is known for its inconsistent sizing so it is best to try things on.
I took my items went up to the fitting room attendant, he asked how many items, I said I had 4 he gave me the appropriate tag and in I went. He did not bat an eye at my voice so either I passed or he had clocked long before I arrived at the fitting room.
Either way I didn't really care...

I did feel more exposed than I have ever felt standing in the fitting room in my bra, but I had fun trying things on, even if I was challenged by a few wardrobe malfunctions.
Two of my four items were the right size and worked, so we bought them.

There is a bit more detail to this day out and I have blogged about it, if you want more detail please feel free to visit.

I found being able to try clothes on quite liberating after I got over my anxiety. It makes things a lot easier. Not sure whether I 'owned it' or not. Not sure if shopping dressed counts as 'owning it' but I had fun and got two new tops (and some bangles) for around the equivalent of US$20 which is a good price here.

Now to find the time to wear them!
:daydreaming:

Basically a dressing room is a dressing room, a place to try clothes on. I found nothing unique about a ladies dressing room. One time though after coming out of the room, ended up getting in to a conversation with the woman who was monitoring the dressing rooms, about lipstick.

Good for you Daniella. I always try before I buy, I've had too many failures otherwise. Sometimes the assistant looks a little non-plussed but in all I've only been refused by one (Chinese) shop. Sometimes they point out that it's ladieswear as if I didn't notice! It's business... they want it... you're the client... move on somewhere else if there's an issue. And yes, I rarely get the opportunity to shop in girl mode, but would treat it the same.

It's funny you mention how you felt in your bra in the dressing room.
Guys never feel awkward, they just strip down and try things on, but when we even slightly undress in a dressing room we feel almost "naked", very exposed. Perhaps it's a girl thing, but it does kind of punctuate the whole idea of being there.

A nice day all around for you Dani, and I'm sure it won't be your last. However, I would never have the desire to shop or dress with my wife. I'd love to go shopping with a GG,just not the wife. I don't know why. Anyway, happy that it works for you and others :)

Trying on clothes can take a damn long time. :)
