I spent the last two days 'en femme' down in New Hope, Pa. Everybody said it was a super-accepting community and they were absolutely right.
last night I sat in the restaurant/bar at the Ramada having a drink and an app (before cell phones that's what we used to call appetizers). A late middle aged woman walked by my table and kind of nodded and said hello. I smiled and said hello back to her. She took another step or two, then turned to me and said "Linda, isn't it?" I wasn't sure what to think, but I said, ""No, I'm afraid not." "Oh, I'm sorry," she said, "I have a friend who looks just like you. I thought you were her." I took that as a sign of blending pretty well.
I guess her friend must not be a good looking woman.

Or .. it might have been a very elegant way of getting a second look at you and a better sample of your voice ;)

I'd say you must have blended very well, but I tend to be on the positive side and think what I know you what to hear.... I bet her friend is good looking also...

I'm glad you had a good time Audrey. Acceptance is what so many of us are seeking.

When you are in New Hope, check out a club called Raven. it's owned by a transgender woman. They have special events about once a month, but they are very welcoming and supportive.
Meanwhile, yes, you must have blended very well. The fact that she thought you looked like a friend indicates that she was looking very closely.
The fact that she still thought you were her friend indicates that she did not realize that you were a cross-dresser.
That is truly outstanding!

I love to hear of events like yours, thank you. It must have been very gratifying. Makes me want to put my face on and go out!

Or maybe she was making her move on you. In any case I'm glad that you enjoyed your evening. I'm sure that Audrey will never forget the moment:)

I was at an event recently. I walked out of my hotel room and started down the hall. There was a young man and young women behind me by a few yards. I didn't hear what the young woman said, but I heard the guy loudly whisper, "No way!". My guess is she said something along the lines of "that's a guy" or "that's one of the crossdressers". :)
(or maybe it had nothing to do with me at all; but I like my version of the story)
