Having just told my law firm colleagues that I am trans and will be going full-time, I now need to tell my high-rise condo management. There is a lot of information and resources for employer guidance (my firm is hiring a consultant). I expect building management at my condo to ask for guidance in training their staff as well. For my part, I just want them to be pleasant to me and continue to let me in. Is anyone aware of resource materials for this situation that I can bring to their attention? I am also interested in anyone's experience in similar situations.

Where you work I can understand but I don't think you would need to offer any guidance / training for the doormen where you live. The more you treat it as normal and not a big deal the more they will do the same.

I have never lived anywhere we had a Doorman. I tend to agree with arbon, as long as you don't make a big deal about it, they won't. Make sure you have your ID with you so you can prove you are who you say you are if needed.

Congratulatios, Mary Ellen! You have taken a wonderful (and scary) big step!
Like the others, I don't think you need to worry about the apartment building staff. Just let 'em know.
Hugs,
Persephone.
