I love that story. The interesting thing here is what I experience 99% of the time when out. They were curious and not negative. The "torches and pitchfork" group really does not exist, it just refers to those rare small number of individuals who cannot adapt to change for whatever reason. Thanks for sharing.

Yes I was dressed as a female. walk the same route every day so they may have seen me before.

Last Halloween I was invited to a dinner and I went as Marie-Claude. I was the only crossdresser.

In the middle of the dinner, one of the ladies told me: "you are more beautiful than some of the other ladies"...

I had mixed feelings, as I found this a bit cruel towards the other ladies, but I liked to please as Marie-Claude.
