View Full Version : Tarten skirts purchased online?

Looking for a short red tarten (plaid) skirt for safe, reliable purchase online. I'm not good with the size translation but *possibly* it might be women's size 18 (waistline 28'-29'). Think of the kind school girls wear, or Daphne's short skirts on earlier episodes of Frazier. :worship:
Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Ebay have some but they are a bit short (lol). A bit over priced but when you have a need well......we've all been there. I would say size 18 is over big. 28 inch waist is more like size 12 UK. Best way is to find what you like then send the seller a message and actually ask the real waist size.
Have fun.

Thanks Pauleen! I checked out that site, some good stuff there :)
Jodi, those letters wouldn't stand for The Little Girl Who Lives Down The Lane, would it? ;)
It would indeed.
Beyond this, as I don't know my way around the confusing world of female clothing sizes (junior, misses, etc.) :strugglin & appear to have wound up with "plus size" results when punching in "size 18", to clarify: I'm 5'5", 115-120 pounds, 28'/29' inch waist. I suspect I'm somewhere in the "misses" cataagory.
JC: What you've got on there (sic) is very similar to what I'm looking for -- that is, a short, red & black tart_a_n skirt.
Again, any assistance sincerely appreciated,
JF

Thanks for the link. I see that by these lights, I'm a medium. But, what about all that "Junior, Misses, Plus-size" stuff?" Does one order "Medium" & assume they know what you're on about?

Jodie: Based upon the measurements you listed for yourself you are a misses size 10. A size 10 is in the medium range.
As for your height, at 5'5", average will work perfect-- you don't need Petite nor Tall length sizing.
Enjoy your buying spree!

Try the thrift or goodwill stores, they usually have something and you can try them on first before taking them home. I bought two there. $4.00 and $7.00 Bobbie

I have one just like yours. Kilt that is. Bobbie:bs:

Nice skirt Roxane but I think the hem needs a little sewing. It looks like it is coming undone from here.

Again, my thanks. Without decending to the tedious -- for [I]you! -- two of you advise my measurements suggest a misses, size 8 or 10. How does that square with th size chart below? Needless to say, I failed math. Repeatedly. :o
