I had a chance to make a trip out of town recently. This gives me a good chance to dress up (since my wife and I are in a mostly DADT situation). I had arranged a very loose trip schedule so I can have the chance to dress up and fly pretty.

After lunch at work, I headed home to get packed and getting ready for the airport. It is a bit hot, so I opt for minimum makeup and selected a short sleeve tunic top with tights. I have done this one or two times before, but ever since I have came out to my friends I am now getting comfortable going out.

Since I booked ticket under my real name (which is un-mistakenly male), so I got "Sir"ed at the ticket counters, which I just ignore. A fun thing happened during a transfer flight where the gate agent wished everyone a good flight. I think she was focusing on the boarding pass, and when it is my turn, she goes "Have a good flight, S... " (looking at my boarding pass, and then when she looks up) "Ma'am". Talking about a quick reaction. And I replied with my smile. :-)

Here are a picture I took at the airport food court.

Hi Leslie,

I think you present very well as your picture attests. I have flown a few times now and still get the odd sir but I find most try to be correct and I get the "ma'am" more often. I hope you had a good flight and a good trip.

Cheers

Isha

When absorbed in your job and confronted with something a little different, surprises do come to light.

That sounds like a great excursion. You look quite feminine and attractive. Hope you get to do this again soon!

nice photo.
I use my male name when at doctors etc, they were cool with me turning up as a female.

I hate being called sir, even in drab, but when in drab I think it's out of pitty cuz I look so much like a chic 'trying' to be a guy! 😄

Leslie, you look very nice.

Two weeks ago I flew pretty on a flight from San Diego to Phonenix, with not one sir, but many times referred to as ma'am.
