Went to visit a friend about thre hours away and to my surprise I found the confidence to not only get changed out of the safety of my own house but also head out into the unknown world. We were out only for a few hours but got to walk though the mall and also stop at the makeup counter and get a few needed things and some good advise.

having a supportive friend would be nice. I have always gone alone. But, that still takes guts.

Sounds like a very good first step out. Bet they really get easier as more and more steps start occurring.

Having a wing-girl makes all the difference when getting out the door. Just the fact that there are two of you chatting as you stroll adds to your presentation and confidence. There is a reason that GGs tend to pair up the way they do!

That's a great way to do it. Very little chance of being seen by anyone you know and having someone by your side. You didn't mention if it was a male friend or a female and if male, a crossdresser or not.

What a wonderful outing.

I was out trying on clothes yesterday and realized I would just love someone (GG or fellow CD or TG) to shop with!!
Shopping in the women's section is still a very new experience for me. It is so wonderful to be underdressed and have the experience I have waited for such a long time.
I love that we are all at different stages and I can be inspired by those who have walked through before.

Peace

Good for you. Yes having a friend to go with you is the best way. It can still take an amazing amount of courage to take those first steps outside especially in the all the way public like a shopping mall. You go gurl!

It feels so good to just get out the door. Yesterday I got dressed up and out the dorm I went to Starbucks, JC Penny's and a small women's shop it was fabulous. No questions or anything.

Watch out! Being out and about is adictive! But oh so good for your (mental) health.

Welcome to the world!

What made the day even better was my GG friend and I went over to another GG friend's house and hung out till the wee hours of the morning, both are super okay with my CD and are both very much wanting to help me out as I learn and explore was great to feel like one of the girls for more than a few hours at home alone. In all I spent just over a full day en femme before making my trip home this morning.

I bet that felt great to do. I'm very happy that you found the nerve to go out and have some fun. Staying home after all that effort kind of stinks. :)

I was so nervous the first time out. The more you do it, the easier it gets.

I was so nervous the first time out. The more you do it, the easier it gets.

Yep, experience builds confidence for sure! I was out en femme a while ago in a a park and a guy was approaching me to start what would be a brutally awkward conversation as often happens and my phone rang, work emergency so I had to answer the call, and as my guy self!..I was on the phone and the guy walking his dog just turned the other way and went about his dog walking, my biggest fear is bumping into somebody I actually know, don't really care about strangers anymore ☺

My first time out in femme I went to Mac D's got some coffee on a Saturday morning and Noted how all the other girls dressed, what I learned was I was pretty ugly but I wasn't the ugliest by a long shot.
Real women come in every size and shape and I was not that far off from real world norms. As long as I dress appropriately to the time and place I have had very little problem.

I have gone out now a few times under dressed including a tank under my shirt and a hoodie and it feels so much better. I think my body is starting to reject boys clothes as much as my mind. Lol

Hi there,

CONGRATS! The first outing is always the hardest but is the one we always tend to remember in every detail. It is a great thing to have supporting friends who will go out with you and help you along the way.

Cheers

Wow, that is a big step, but so glad it went well. Having a wing girl is wonderful -- I hope you have many more outings like this. Being you gets better every time!

Congratulations! I have been out a few times and will continue to do so. Since I am tall, I'm sure people can spot a mile away that I am a man and this bothers me. Oh well.
