View Full Version : Feeling sorry for the guy

Last weekend we decided to take the Cog Rail to the top of Pikes Peak. As usual I went enfemmed. A nice black and gray peplum skirt, with black blouse, and blond hair, painted nails, gold diamond double heart necklace, black pumps with stockings.
Before the train left, I went to the men's room to relieve myself. When I entered there was only one stall which was occupied, and a wall of urinals. So I walked up to a urinal and relieved myself. Along side of me was a father helping his little boy use the urinal. I thought about it afterword, How the guy would explain this to his son. Why a woman was standing at the urinal. That must have been a tough conversation.

Even with running into a biker gang at the top, they still treated me with respect. It was a wonderful day for the whole family.

Should I have waited for a stall, and risked being late for the train, should I have used the ladies room, or was using the urinal ok?

Here is how I was dressed.

Wow, tough one but I've heard it all depends on your presentation, curious to hear the replies on this one myself!

Hi Maxi,

General rule of thumb you use the restroom of the presentation. However, it is more a comfort thing IMHO. If you feel fine using the "men's" vice the "women's" that is your call. I am glad you had a great day.

Cheers

Ahhh, yes I was right! But what if you've only been hypnotized to think you're a chic but look like you just finished a 14 HR day working pipeline, hey it could happen right! ☺

The Ladies room to the left, urinals to the right. That poor kid! He is going to be messed up for awhile.

I think the kid will be fine -- he knows why people use urinals. It's the Dad who's going to be messed up for a while. ;)

Or maybe he'll come over to the pink side and join our team! Strength in numbers right! 😄

First, you look really nice; love the whole outfit!
I personally would've utilized the Women's restroom. Pretty sure the father will explain to his son that you were either on your way to a costume party or on your way to perform in a play.

From what I have read here over the years, the reason most CDers don't like using the men's room while dressed is because they don't relish getting beat up on by men who might find their appearance objectionable. They avoid men's rooms for self-protection.

But, you sound as if you are confident and can take well care of yourself. This alone, I think, might deter someone from wanting to mess with you. So yeah, if you own it, then by all means use the men's room if using the ladies' would cause you to miss your train. Also I don't think it makes a difference whether you use a urinal or a stall once you're there?

As to the dad with the young boy, I wouldn't worry about it too much. He'll likely explain there are some men who dress like women. My own kids and I have run into one or two CDs/TGs/TSs (difficult to say how they identified) when they were younger. My youngest asked the usual, "Mom, is that a man?" and I explained it to him when we were alone, although I didn't get into the differences between CDs and TSs obviously. I didn't even understand it at the time.

Yeah this is still a problem for me too. I use the mens room lots. They can make room for me

I think it's fun to use the men's room 'frocked up' once in a while... But you do need to be ready for some passive aggressive or occasional aggressive aggressive responses.

I've been in a few bar fights in the day but never a good restroom brawl, kinda looking forward to one now I think about it!😃

OMG Donna I glad to see that you Aussies finally got the urinal down on the floor where it should be.
I don't know what the answer is to this, but I just can not lift my skirt to use the urinal. I don't know why, even in the safety of my home, I have to and prefer to sit. okay so yes there are those time and PLACES that yes I welcome the male ability to stand. when presenting as female though I would go 100% and if having to use the males room I would still wait for a stall. keep them guessing.
I don't thing you did wrong Maxi, the boys father will be bothered more then the boy, but it's not what I would have done.

Persephone.

Remember when we went to the Women's Expo and they had re-designated some of the mens' rooms as ladies rooms? Those porcelain things attached to the wall were not an art exhibit! :)

It was fun watching the reactions of some of the GGs when they walked into the room and saw them. "OMG, are we in the wrong bathroom?"

I go to a place in Austin, Texas called 'Bout Time 2. I ALWAYS use the men's room. I fell more comfortable in there.

The conversation was quite simple I would guess.

Little Boy: See Dad I told you and Mom that it would be OK for you to come today in your pretty blue dress.
Dad: I guess you are right son, But today is the day Mom is the pretty one.
Little Boy: Mom is always pretty.
Dad: You are right son.
Little Boy: Can we get some Ice Cream.

Not to over think things, but since it was not real clear to me whther or if the ladies room was busy or not? But personally I would have went to the ladies room first if dressed up.

The mens room would have been a last resort for me.

This is why I favor unisex facilities, not to go off track on a restroom rant but just saying.

Hope you enjoyed yur trip op to the Peak, really neat place to visit and you looked very nice while you were there.

Why on earth would you do that??????? You presented as a woman, you should have gone to the ladies room unless and I emphasis should have gone there(ladies room) the line was to long and you had an URGENT need to go. Then a stall would have been a discrete and perhaps the best alternative.

I never go out dressed so I don't know what I would but I imagine I would have a hard time going into the ladies room even if I was dressed but then if my wife was along I could have her check first to see if anyone was in there or have her go in with me. I have noticed more and more places now have family restrooms which would be nice for those occasions.

Public urinals scare me as it is. I dont think I could have gone in either. There is probably a Phobe word for my fear but i dont know it. Lol

You are equally entitled to use either restroom. I've only ever come across the situation once and that was at Funny Girls in Blackpool.. the advice from the staff when I asked was an appraising look up and down at my presentation followed by "if it was me, I'd use the ladies".

A different situation of course, but I think the general understanding is that you are entitled to use the restroom of the gender you are presenting. But if you want to use the mens, that's fine too.

I know its many people opinion here, but why?

I think because women don't throw a punch as hard 😉 This topic is getting a lot of traction lately, a number of places are introducing gender neutral washrooms at great expense for a reason, good news 😀

Many Years ago during my outings we would go to the mens room. Use a toilet stall. Thingss were a bit different about 15 years ago. My recent Outing just a few weeks ago I asked our accompaniment friends about using the restroom. They escorted me to the Ladies Room. I Used the stall as I would have. How Ever I barely could go due to nerves. I haven't been out in years until then and being in the ladies room was new. But I should be good on our next outing. Glad It was Friendlyt place.

I think using the ladies room would make me uncomfortable.

At the top of the mountain I used a stall in the men's room. I had to wait in line for a few minutes to get one. The urinal did not have any partitions between them. While waiting I ran into a couple members of the Combat Vets Biker club. They were very respectful. They did stop to watch when one of the guys at the urinals looked at me and said "Really?" I replied with "Really!" He said he was not commenting about me, but his little brother who was be hide me. I told him "That's alright. This is America and you are entitled to your opinion. It's ok." He did not know what to say, and went on his way.

I'm thinking the bikers probably had a good laugh over that one. The poor guy was so embarrassed.

I'd use the women's room out of courtesy to the men who might enter. Regardless of how well or poorly I may present, I can't imagine myself standing at a urinal in a skirt, mainly because I really don't go out of my way to attract attention to myself.

I never use urinals, never, I hate them. I use the stall. If it was me, I'd use the mens room because I am man, even if I'm crossdressing and with makeup all made up, I'm still a dude. I m not obliged to any courtesy because I have as much right as anyone else to use the restroom of my gender. But well, thats me.

The word"you should use this or that" is what disconcerted me from post 27.

If the boy were young enough, dad could simply tell him, if he even asked, that some men like to dress up just like women do. If dad doesn't make a fuss over it, the kid will consider it just another normal variation of dressing, such as what the bikers were wearing. It will be a different world eventually. Just not in time for me.

Hi Maxi, I'm still pondering this one, It's going to take some deep thought.:daydreaming:

Krisi

I don't stand to pee when I'm dressed as Krisi, even at home. Actually, it would be difficult because of being tucked and wearing padded panties. There's a risk of an "accident".

Dressed as a female in public, I think using the female restroom would be the proper thing to do if there's no unisex or family restroom available. Of course if you can't possibly pass or you're not trying to pass, the men's room would be more appropriate.

As for the comment above "You are equally entitled to use either restroom.", don't count on it. In some areas there may be laws giving you the right to use the ladies restroom if you are dressed as and trying to pass as a woman, but in other areas, you must legally use the restroom that matches your birth certificate, driver's license or what's between your legs.

The chances of being arrested for using the wrong restroom are slim unless someone else is offended and calls the management or the police, but there's the possibility of it happening. There's also the possibility that a male bystander will take offence at you using the ladies room while his wife or daughter is also using it and he might decide to defend his wife's or daughter's honor by teaching you a lesson. Again, a slim chance, but entirely possible.

Nobody ever said being a crossdresser would be easy.

Definitely the ladies room....all the time! A few weeks ago, I was brushing my long hair before leaving the ladies room and a few women complemented me on it! Yes, I was in the right room!
