Madeleine, I agree with what you say about the media's portrayal of how women "should" look, but I discovered that I bought into that less and less as I matured. I dare say that most women feel the same way, if you look around you and see how many women you pass by every day spend tons of time grooming themselves to the nines and wearing heels, hose, and skirts. Seriously, Sarah, why would your gf hate you if you take the time, effort and expense to make yourself up and put together an outfit to achieve your desired results?

I've seen the sentiment expressed here over the years that women are jealous of CDers who make the effort and this has never made sense to me. Granted, a woman who is overweight might be envious of a partner who isn't - blame this on the media's unrealistic portrayal of the "ideal" woman, but this certainly is not the case if both partners have a similar body mass index. We're not all still in middle school. lol

This is why women aren't jealous of CDers: women have the natural advantage because they have all the curves, the voice, the smaller more delicate features. Anything else is packaging (even breast enhancements) and if women are interested in achieving the same results as a CDer who gets all dolled up, it just takes a trip to the makeup counter and clothing store.

Here's what I know is absolutely true in life: our wives are better looking than us. It's really incredible. Women clearly are not into the visual as much as us. Well, I no longer have an SO, sadly. And I didn't try to establish a feminine appearance for myself while she was still alive. Also, it's not particularly fair to compare, given that I was six years younger, and my wife was no longer trying to keep the white out of her hair, used very little in the way of cosmetics, and wasn't getting enough exercise to keep her weight in check.

But comparing Ceera today to my wife during the last 4 to 5 years of her life? Yeah, I think Ceera is hotter. I weigh less, wear a much smaller size in skirts or pants, have a better over-all feminine figure, and I now have a better wardrobe and make better use of cosmetics.

My late wife could be truly beautiful when she put the effort into it. Sadly, she didn't do that very often, late in her life.

But that's just it, Ceera. To compare people or things that aim to be two different things is pointless. It's like comparing a $30 main course in a restaurant to an $8 lunch. You can compare all you want, but this is not an indication of both chef's abilities, who I'm sure can each prepare both the $30 and $8 meals when they want to.

The trouble with comparing a CDer who is all done up to a wife who throws on clothes in the morning gives the impression that the person who is doing the comparison wants a consensus about what is innately better-than or hotter, when in fact all we are talking about is the act of having put on makeup and stylish clothes, which you cannot compare to someone who does NOT put on makeup and who wears utilitarian clothes.

The only valid comparisons are those between a CDer and his wife, either both in their natural unadorned states, or both with makeup, stylish hair and clothes, etc.

As to being humorous, this is hard to do in a forum where all we have is the written word. We can't hear the person's tone of voice, we can't read their facial expression or their body language, we can't see them wink (this is actually why we have smileys here, to convey motives that are difficult to convey using only the written word) and this is especially true when someone makes a joke about this when many others have said, in all seriousness, that they were hotter than their wives. A joke works best when it is obvious that it is a joke to everyone, which apparently is not the case here.

Also there are people who hide their true motives behind jokes. My ex was like this. He'd be unhappy about something but rather than come out and say it, he'd make a passive-aggressive joke in an attempt to communicate his feelings. You could tell that it wasn't a joke because it spoke to issues and not neutral things. Likewise, the desire by many CDers to pass or be considered attractive is a real one, which makes "jokes" about being more attractive than their SO's questionable.

Honestly at first I thought it was a joke too, albeit in poor taste, given the prior issues with saying things like that in this forum. This is why I answered "I will not say anything" three times with a smiley and even typed earlier that I thought it was tongue-in-cheek. But reading other people's reactions, I'm now questioning the intent.

People read it as looks because there have been umpteen posts by CDers in the past about thinking themselves hotter than GGs. It's been a recurring theme here for years. So it doesn't surprise me that people didn't see the double entendre, if it WAS a double entendre. :p

Yes, this is a topic that comes up every so often, being hotter than or better looking than. It always ends up with the OP, or those that support the idea that it may be possible, being criticized for thinking that way. What is considered better looking or hotter than anyway? I think that one part may be those that are better looking and hotter on the inside as being beautiful people and then it is not necessary to consider the outside. So, that could mean that a good looking hot person on the inside may not be so much on the outside. The same could be said in reverse, that someone good looking and hot on the outside is more than ugly once you get to know their true personality. It all depends on how someone defines what is hot and what is good looking. I would say that the majority of comments like these are based only on physical looks and presentation. That presentation does not have to be sexy and over the top to meet that criteria. It actually would probably be detrimental for them for some people, i.e. too far over the top.

People sometimes state that a man could never look better nor hotter than a woman when presenting as one. Since many people, both men and women, are visual people when looking at another person (have you never seen a woman give the once over to another woman when passing by?), I will say that yes, some men presenting as women may be able to be better looking and hotter looking than some GG's. Note that I said some. Remember that some GG's can visually look better and hotter than other GG's. That does not mean that in all aspects he will pull it off, maybe some mannerism, voice or other thing may create a doubt in someone's mind. I will also say that some FtM CD's or TS's can and do also look better than a lot of genetic men out there too. I have seen both sides of this controversial comment coin.

These opinions have nothing to do with whether someone is more a woman than someone else, nor is it usually meant to be negative toward women. Some people just "look" better than other people on the outside. Getting to know the person on the inside may complete that picture or ruin it.

I'm referring to the fact that some of you equate hotness with clothes! Whereas to other people (like me) hotness transcends the clothes. A woman can be hot in a burlap bag and an exquisitely dressed CDer can be not so hot. Here's an example. Who is hotter?

So based on the clothes criteria, the first woman should be hotter, right? But she isn't. And this is because hotness (strictly physical hotness if it is a person you do not know) has nothing to do with clothes and makeup. It has everything to do with bone structure, the shape of facial features, body size and shape, and age. So why do some of you describe hotness in terms of makeup, jewelry and clothes?

Of course in real life, hotness is much more than basic physical appearance (or clothes): there is the mind, the personality and everything associated with this.

I am GG. I occasionally meet someone who finds my enthusiastic smile alluring, but as a elder who does not bother with makeup and who is in a wheelchair, most people do not even see me. I am more male gender identified, the type of woman who always wore jeans and T-shirts, never ever wore make-up. My guy found me hot because I was in love with him. People look gorgeous when they are in love. He still sees something inside that turns him on and kisses me with gusto every morning. I treasure that. So to him I'm hot, but to almost no one else.

My guy is also older, so will not attract the Miley Cyrus fans. When dressed he has a great ass, an incongruous beer belly, and good taste in clothing. HOT (Me my Victoria side vs her my wife, natural side in my eyes) My wife hands down and no Katey I'm not just saying that because she is on this site. nope in my eyes she is perfect, the hottest and most beautiful person I know, physically, mentally and physiologically, She is my definition of HOT.
As I see it, this was a silly question and yes, yes, yes so many flaws, but the fact that we can all talk, be civil and have fun with this is pretty cool.

This is why women aren't jealous of CDers: women have the natural advantage because they have all the curves, the voice, the smaller more delicate features. Anything else is packaging (even breast enhancements) and if women are interested in achieving the same results as a CDer who gets all dolled up, it just takes a trip to the makeup counter and clothing store.

Because if so, I feel obliged to disagree. Beauty is subjective, and we can all look good or not depending to who is the observer. Even if pointless and ridiculous in my opinion, theoretically if that observer is us and we have enough egocentrism for it, yes, we can think we look better than anybody else, because of the intrinsical subjectivity of the matter.

My S.O. really got upset when our therapist mentioned that I really was a beautiful woman inside out. She has never accepted my CDing ever since (+10 years ago). I don't know if I was hotter then but I love to be believe as I was close to it then. And now that my real hair is longer than mid back, I definitely look hot from the back....and pretty good from the front after a makeover at Mac's!

No, not at all. There are gorgeous people of both sexes. I'm saying that women are not jealous of CDers, because they already have what CDers want to emulate. By "advantage", I meant that women do not need to buy breast forms, they already have breasts. They also are generally smaller than men, less muscular, smaller hands, feet, they already have the female waist-hip ratio, they already have the soft voice and no beard, etc.

And please let me be clear. In my eyes, no one is better or more beautiful. Just different. And I do agree that beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. But, if the beholder is a CDer or a woman looking at him or herself, women are socialized to not say out loud they think they are hotter or prettier than other women ... and this is a page in women's manuals that I would dearly love to have some of the CD members here read. lol

Absolutely....NOT! Even with all the attention to details I may put into my dressing, I'm still just a dude in a dress.
And although I love to see all of us posting pics here, all dolled up in our finest, the "hotness" factor doesn't compare to that of my GG!
