Yeah, I've been there too.
A week ago saw a tribe member out at a public function. Couldn't get close. I was out with the wife and friends in drab. Just shaved my legs, but had jeans on. Seems like a cliche. "Dear Penthouse, I never believed theses stories were true, but let me tell you......."
So anyway I wrote a poem about it:
ode to blendy girl
Oh blendy girl, blendy girl
Where for art thou blendy girl?
I haft seen thee on the mall,
Just a little bit too tall,
Legs as smooth as mine,
Pale and lithe lines so fine.
Auburn hair long and full
Covered face, obstructed view
I wait to catch your gaze tonight
But you slip out of sight
should I comment on your shoes
Divulge myself, what's to lose
But I'm in stealth with my friends
I know how the evening ends
Oh so close but never near
Guess I'll just have another beer

I must keep my eyes open or be more skeptical, I rarely see another sister unless she is glaringly ugly or out of place.
That is sad I know.

Meghan, what a great poem. Please understand that if we borrow or plagerize it, we do so out of respect & praise of your talents. I have never been in your situation before . You must have been so anxious to say hello & chat over a few beers. You probably couldn't keep your eyes off of her & missed a lot of your table conversation. Many thanks for sharing, mel
I guess it's my area but I spot other cd's out and about regularly. I'm sure there are others that I don't spot. Generally, I'm able to spot them because they are over dressed or dressed wrong for the venue. Also spot cd's by their gestures( or lack thereof). and their overall body language and the way they move. I've observed those that presented very well and have seen those that did not present well. Regardless, they were out and about and they survived.

Ahh, this was Gender Fluid blendy girl. Tall, white girls sneaker, no socks, short shorts, pullover top, long auburn hair (wig), no forms. Her face was the read, not sure if she was made up or not. If she was, it was subtle. She was out with two other GG friends (I suspect). She was confident and having a good time.
I think I was the only one there doing the math, as no one gave her the stink eye or even noticed. I wanted to tell her she only had one more week for white shoes. A faux-pas after Labor day. I think that would have been a good conversation starter :)
Thans for the compliment. Anyone can use my poem. My gift to you!

Kind of a combination of Ogden Nash, Dr. Seuss, Joyce Kilmer and Shakespeare. How cool is that! Hugs, Michelle

Not out on the hunt. If you leave your radio tuned to a certain frequency, and drive across country, you will eventually pick up a station. No effort expended, just happened to notice.

Nice poem Meghan. :D
I've yet to notice a blendy or even non-blendy girl out.
They have to be out there I live in a large metro area.
Maybe I live in an area where all the CD's are the closet kind (like me)
A closet cluster ??

We was having afternoon tea today and I def saw a fellow sister today, she walked right past my table with what I presumed was her elderly parents. The best thing was she wasn't even trying to blend this was full on man in a dress and very confident with it. As I watched her walk past I noticed all the other customers in the garden didn't even bat an eye or notice. Goes to show how confidence is a major part of going out in public also she was built like a brick ****house so if anyone was to give her grief they wouldn't stand a chance. If your on this forum girl I thank you so much, even though your completely unaware you gave me a little more confidence in taking my first trip out you miss are a role model. xxx

I picked up on two others while out. One was shopping in Dillard's with three GGs. They were all about 20. The GGs had input to her outfit and no one gave her a long stare or giggle.
The other encounter was impossible to miss. She must have just transitioned or recovered from SRS, but from the moment she was on our cruise ship, she let everyone know! At 6'6" and 200 lbs she wasn't hard to miss anyway. She wanted the attention and sought it out. Mmmmmmm..... Sounds like some famous athlete I know of.....

so you are blindly searching. I don't get the analogy as being pertinent. If you have your radio you WANT to hear something. Otherwise you would just drive

The only crossdresser I've ever seen out in public was the reflection of myself in a store window. Maybe the locals set traps for them and ship their catch to California.

Did I do something to piss you off today? All I was saying that is I was out, happened to notice someone, would have liked to say hi, and thought of a silly poem I wrote after a couple of beers.
Wasted energy? Baby, participating on this forum is a far bigger waste than that!

Personally Meghan, I loved your poem. I have not ventured out in public nor does anyone in my circle know I dress and I too look at a sister from a distance, maintain my cover and think about the lost opportunities to encourage the bravery these girls show in just doing it. I respect and admire you.

Lori's having a bad day Meghan, don't sweat it, we all have bad days (Lord knows I do) - just give her some virtual hugs... :hugs:
It's a sweet poem indeed - the warmth for your virtual compatriot comes across with the obvious yearning you have to reach out... It's touching, and possibly speaks more to the closeted folk here than others...
I get what you're saying about generally observing - I do the same... Aside from specific events and clubs - when, of course, you're falling over sisters at every bar and mirror-ball - I recall seeing only a handful of TS or CDs out in the vanilla world - and it's not like I spend my time peering insanely at folk like some geeky stalker; I am very observant and have spent a lot of time in our metropolis as well as normal life here in the boonies, and I just come up blank a lot of the time... I guess there will be something of a gravitation towards areas that are acknowledged as being more accepting and that might explain it.. I still think we should be mindful of what seems to be the predominant feeling that any girl trying to blend probably doesn't want to know that she's been 'made' unless there's a normal opportunity to exchange a polite word... Personally, I think I'll stick to interactions at clubs and events - at least you know where you stand then... :)

You might if you only got to see a dog about once a year. Believe me, seeing a gender fluid girl out at a community festival in John Boener's home district is far less common.
Like I said in my original post, it was a little cliche, but inspired a silly poem.
I guess I need to beg forgiveness of the TG police, and restrict my posts to the important topic of what underwear I am currently wearing (VS bikini, deep lavender since EVERYBODY clearly wants to know)

Meghan. Yes, I was a bit heavy handed there, and I'm sorry. So many 'I tot I twa a twansvestite' posts, that invariably turn into 'How do I approach a transgender person?' posts.
It was a cute poem.

I posted a "sighting" too, some time back. I did because it's a like a rare celestial event, the vast majority of girls are nocturnal and a daytime surfacing is noteworthy to those of us who navigate by the sun rather then the stars.

I don't understand why some here are being so mean to the OP. I mean it is "crossdressers.com", "#1 Community & Forum for Crossdressers, Family and Friends". She saw a crossdresser out in public and commented on it. I realize that if you live in Gaytown or Transville, this might not be news, but to those of us living in Peoria, it might be. It might even inspire some of us to go home, strap on our boobs and wig and go hit the town ourselves.
Unnecessary meanness isn't going to help this forum, it gives people bad attitudes and may chase them away. It's time for some people to lighten up a bit.

I like your poem, very creative. I think I've spotted a few blendy girls over the summer and wish I looked half as good as them. Hugs Jaymee
