A Surprise in my Inbox

A few days ago, I am sorting through all the files, folders, and envelopes that are in my inbox, when I come across a pair of stockings still in the package. My first thought was a panic. Who knows that I've been secretly underdressing at work for years and even crossdressing when no one is here? I rack my brain. Has anyone been giving me that knowing look? I look closely for any new security cameras that could have revealed my secret. None.

All week, I have thought about it. I actually didn't underdress from Tuesday to Thursday. Then yesterday evening we had a community function, where everyone dresses up and I found my answer. I had not been discovered. One of the executives from another department was talking at the bar. She was complaining about having to wear pantyhose. Yes, the word pantyhose caught my attention. Her stockings had disappeared from her office during the week and she had been forced to buy a pair of pantyhose last minute from the drug store. I figured out that she must have got them stuck in the distribution envelopes that she sent me.

That's funny! If it were me, I'd have to ask her if those stockings turned up, and on her answer of "no" hand them over and say "I think you got them stuck to the envelope" then go on "I was going to try them on, but they're really not my colour" or size/style whatever....Just for the laughs. Or go further and say "I thought I'd outed myself, then realised they aren't the ones I normally buy" so many options...

There is also the possibility the stockings were taken by another coworker, who put them in your in box. How would they get from her work station to yours without going through the company's mail distribution. I don't mean to put fear in your head...but...just maybe....someone is messing with your head. Hope the stockings were in your size.

I would still be suspicious. How close was the conversation that you overheard? Was it within earshot by chance, or loud enough to make sure you heard it to learn your reaction? Not to make you worry, but I would look for any similar coincidence. If another event arises, you may be being baited. (Just the insecure side of me looking for red flags.)
