Met the new couple across the street.

Came home from the store just a minute ago and I met the young lady and her hubby that moved in a few days ago.
I was in 50/50 mode which is girls jeans and shoes, girls black and white stripped mid length sleeved top.
I walked down to get my mail and she was getting hers also.
Very very sweet girl in her 20's in scrubs so I assume a nurse.
I introduced myself as Tracii and welcomed her to the "hood". Her hubby came out so she introduced me to him and he was very nice as well.
I said I have seen you in the area before didn't you know the guys that used to live there?
He said yeah thats how we knew the house was up for sale.
She went on to say how much she liked the area and other chit chat.
Her hubby went in the house and we chatted on for another 30 min and she said I would love to meet your wife or GF whichever she is sometime.
I said I am single so its just me. She said I knew it LOL and patted me on the shoulder.
The old neighbor had told them a tranny lived across the street I guess.LOL
Anyway she said OMG we are going to be such great friends I just know it It was so nice to finally meet you in person.
Her hubby leaned out the front door OK ladies lets break it up will ya?
I said the old man calls so I'll talk to you some other time. As I turned around she said girl it was nice chatting with you and you are rocking those jeans better than I can LOL.
A nice compliment because I was wearing some new hip pads I just made.

It was funny because its been a month or so back 3 or 4 of the guys were talking by their cars and I pulled in my driveway got out of my car emfemme and walked to my front door.
One of the guys said to his buddies damn she looks good I would hit that (or something like that) and I said "thanks man".
Of course my old neighbor busted a gut laughing at his friend and I got a kick out of the guys embarrassment.
I don't hide who I am they can get over it.

You must have been on cloud nine after that wonderfully fulfilling and validating encounter. I would love to have neighbors that accepting. The comment from the guy with his buddies is priceless, and the fact that he didn't thereafter feel the need to prove his manhood by picking a fight is a sign of the times ahead, as we slowly make our space in the world a little wider.

It's great to have nice neighbors and a real plus when they are open minded and not judgmental. I love the comment about your old neighbor busting a gut. Decades ago when I was in better shape I took a stroll in a long sleeve red dress and red heels and blond wig in the evening. I walked on the side of the street where vehicles would approach from the rear. I got some honks and catcalls. I chuckled a little, as long as the brake lights did not come on.

So jealous Tracii !! It sounds like you have a great set of neighbors who have moved in across the street from you, they sound like amazing people to get to know. Like Isabella said above, it's nice to see that the world may slowly be evolving into a more accepting and welcoming place for all.

Great story Tracii, thx for sharing. I just moved into a leased home on a quiet street and met a few neighbors the first week while moving in boy mode. I don't think they have probably noticed Stephanie yet as I have only been out a few times and have been somewhat discreet. Looking forward to finding out the reaction when they realize I am Stephanie sometimes.
