Like so many here who I've followed so closely and been envious to a degree knowing that I'll eventually get there... Well today it arrived and its official.

Jennifer Helen-Claire Chandler is a real bonfied person.

Now the slew of corrective actions to get IDs and other documents to reflect said change.

Yes let the shaking and happy tears begin (tonight when things quiet down).

Oh my god oh my god oh my god oh my god oh my god....

A very cheery cheers... Jennifer

You may officially put all my bitching and moaning aside for now, and enjoy your rebirth day.
On my way to Service Ontario ( about four minutes after the mailman delivered my name) I had to pull over, I was so filled with emotion.
BTW, an easy place to forget to change your name is on call display on your phone.
Enjoy!

Well, congratulations Ms Chandler! :cheer: :balloons:

You're right about the ID merry-go-round and you're bound to forget one or two - I know I did and that was after making a comprehensive checklist.

BTW, an easy place to forget to change your name is on call display on your phone.
I have to say, I've never had an issue with that because when I call myself my name doesn't come up and I get a busy signal :tongueout:

Yay Jennifer! Congratulations. I agree on the name merry go round. I have to admit I got lazy on things I am not staring at. Been over a year and still have a few things like my college degree left. For a while, it was easy to separate junk mail, his goes to the trash, hers gets read. Now the junk mail has caught up with me so I lost that advantage.

Keep looking at the paper and keep smiling big! It is a day you will always remember.

I'm right there with you. My fingers hurt from using the phone to get what each and every one wants. My wrists are sore from using the keyboard. Oh, what happy discomfort.

Well... Tonight it's finally sinking in. Considering the greuling week I was able to changing banking, arrange for new credit cards to be delivered on Monday, order a new birth certificate that paves the way for my passport, and pay off and close my mortgage under my new name. Next week new drivers license and health card with gender marker change along with other government documents adjusted.

Having a moment to think back... It was clear 1 year ago that to survive, moving forward was the only reasonable answer. This was the turning point for me. The point when you pull up your socks and tackle the future head on. No; was not an option and obsticals just became challenges to over come.

This seamingly simple piece of paper acknowledging my name change represents a legitimization of who I've always been albeit hidden for far to long, suppressed in order to fulfill family duties and obligations, but finally set free to be me though a years worth of perserverience and resolve.

It feels so damn good. Thank you all.

Cheers... Jennifer
