Well, here goes: my doc gave the all-clear, so I'm starting estradiol and spiro :).

My wonderful wife has been beaming all day knowing that I'm able to move forward.

It's been a slow but steady path from the decision two years ago to transition. Electrolysis has taken forever (damn my full-bearded northern European barbarian ancestors!) but is really starting to take effect. My current plan is to talk to HR soon in preparation for transitioning at work over the summer; plans have a way of falling behind, but even if it takes another year I'm seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.

You are fortunate to have a supporting wife. Good luck and hope no one orders more tunnel.

That sounds like good news all round and a great plan for work too!

Plans can sometimes come together sooner than you expect, so don't worry and plan on your plans changing :hugs:

Sounds like a great plan. Be patient...and hold on to the support of your wife.

Congrats. Welcome to our very weird club.
Any plans you make should be pretty fluid. Almost everyone I know moved them forward, not back.

Hi Katharine,

Congrats on your move forward . . . I hear you about those full-bearded European ancestors . . . still fighting the beard battle.

Cheers

You've got an interesting "awakening" coming up when you start the HRT. Now YMMV, but almost right off the bat your skin will soften and your attitude should as well. I'm almost 7 months in and things are just purring along. Don't expect the breasts to come to life for a while, but that too will come to pass.
I too was blessed with a Northern European beard as well, but a year of laser helped me out. If you're already doing Electro, keep it up and forget going laser. Best of luck to you, Kath.

Katharine; Congrats. Best of both worlds... HRT allowing the next step in an incredible journey and a supporting spouse. I wish you all the best. Take it slow and let the body adjust. More is not better. Find the balance and you'll be fine.

Welcome to the club.

Cheers... Jennifer
