I joined this forum almost 2 years ago while seeking more information on my lifelong issue of knowing I was female since childhood but having to fit into ( more like forced) a male world. My identity has never been an issue, I just had to come to understand I am not a girl in a boy's body, I am a girl in my body, girls have all kinds of bodies. It took me many years to come to this epiffiney moment and I started my transition.
I have jumped thru many hoops and payed my dues with family, work and society to get to this Sunday when I leave to head up Burlingame Ca. to have my SRS with Dr. Marci Bowers.
This forum let me know that I was not alone and gave me strength to pursue my true self and be content with myself and I love you all.

Peggie,
I am very happy for you. I live in the Bay Area and if you need anything don't hesitate to ask. I got to meet Paula recently when she came for surgery.

Congratulations.
Congratulations, Peggie. May I ask -- do you see this as a culmination, an end of the journey, or .. simply as yet another beginning?
It's awesome you are getting to be complete.

I made it up to the Inn which is in San Bruno and it's really nice, I love it, it's perfect for a long stay, my bedroom is bigger than most hotels rooms.
I see Dr. Bowers at 9:45 tomorrow then over to Mills Peninsula hospital for blood test. The drive up was a little tiring as there was a lot of traffic. My oldest son came with me and I am very proud and happy at the way he has supported me these last 2 years

I'm now post op day 2, they said 48 hours bed rest before they get me up tomorrow.
So far just discomfort not really a lot of pain. Dr Bowers told me everything went well with little blood loss and she was able to give 6 1/2 inches WA HOO! And that it took an extra hour to make it look up to her standards. There's 4 girl on my floor hope to get to meet them.

I get to get up this morning, 48 hours on your back is enough.

Post op, two little words with a lot of meaning in the Trans community , some will hold you in Awe and other will say your just flaunting it......Either way it was just something I had to do.
To me it looks like any other 66 year olds VJJ and that makes me happy.
The GRS operation needs to be taken very seriously, as operations go I've had worse but there can and will be physical issues that must be dealt now and in the following months. Like my first time ever reaction to Percocet that really scared me.
Back at the Inn I don't have all those good people to take care of me l have to do it do it right and do it when it needs doing. Change out the pad, apply ointment to the wounds, drain the catheter and all the other things to keep body and soul to gather.
Mill Peninsula Hospital was fabulous the staff super as was Dr. Marci Bowers and her entire staff, thank you all.
