I was having a pleasant evening out with Mimi, my daughter, and her boyfriend. We were standing in line with random folks waiting for the maître d'. One of the men in the line near me was complaining to his friends about the inconveniences of being tall. He was 6'3". I commented to him "You should try being a 6'2" woman!" He looked me up and down and said "You have a point!" Everyone had a good chuckle!

Little interactions like this are great confidence-boosters! :)

Years ago, really decades, my brother and his wife were members in a social club where the minimum height requirement was six foot. That included the women too. There is an advantage of being tall when riding a subway or el....you're above the armpits of other riders. As a MtF cross dresser, I'd be more than willing to be five or six inches shorter than my six foot even. If he was six foot three and you are six foot two I bet he has not looked eye to eye with a woman for awhile. Nice story.

Eryn, I am 5'11 and when I put heels on I am well over six feet. My SO is 5.0 and wears tall heels. When I am a girl she has told me that I looked substantial. But I must say that I had several 5' 10 girlfriends and I liked them in tall heels where they were indeed taller than me. Never felt subconscious about that. Your story though was pretty funny, thanks for sharing that.

Just one more reason for getting out there and being yourself, these everyday encounters are great. You should try being 5'-7" tall, those pesky top shelves are just so inconvenient and forget about washing a 6'-8" glass door or a truck roof and hood. We need more fun encounters posted here.

I (Homer) was shopping with my wife and her friend who is probably five feet tall. A woman walked past wearing spiked heels, maybe 4" at the most. My wife's friend said "I would hate to fall off those shoes." Without even thinking, I said "It wouldn't be any worse than if you were that much taller." She thought about what I said and replied "Well, I guess you are right about that."

A GG friend has her two sisters in town for a visit, so I'm taking all of them to the same private club. It will be interesting, as they are all 5'10" or 5'11"! It'll be a Tall GNO! I'll still be tall, but not by so much!

I'm 6'1" and when I dress and go out I do feel out of place around the large number of mostly shorter women out in the world. But from time to time I see tall ladies or find clothing that fits me just right and understand I may be unusual but still mostly normal. I love visiting with one of my best friends, he's 5'9" but married a woman almost the same height as me. I would love to talk clothes and being a tall woman with her some day but I'm not out to them yet.

lovely story. and, there are tall women. i'm 6'1" but in Long Tall Sally I've met taller women (in flats), so we're going to be looked at, but like the female shot-putters, the world is all shapes and sizes.

I do occasionally encounter women of my height, but almost all of them are twenty-something. Not many middle-aged ladies are north of 6 feet.

You are in good company. Many of the highest paid models are very tall - with legs that go on forever. Just strut your stuff as you please and enjoy the ride.

Sadly, i am 61 yo, and there really are not many six foot and over GGs that tall, especially in the area i live. I always found it difficult to slow dance with GG's a foot shorter or more than me. Sadly, for m, the super tall women seem to be in their 20,s . I was born at the wrong time! When i go out, at six foot six, and in 2 1/2" to 4" heels, i do stand out, way above most GG.s and men, too. I am a rather shy person, though, not a power broker. i hope i cn interact with humor, like you did Eryn!

Tall girls have a negative actually with a lot of males. Maybe they want a dependent thing? Why is that good? Why do 'males' like submissive, because it is EASY?

If a girl isn't willing to get her hackles up, she isn't worth my time. I LOVE a tall girl. My Mom is 5' nothing. The height is a turn-on, actually. I LIKE me a strong woman. All fierceness, claws and wonderful energy. (I just described my wife)
