As we all know winter is fast approaching which means a time for layering. My question is do you crossdress under your clothes when it's winter? Or does your habbits not change?

Habit doesn't change

Habit does not change. I'm not an under dresser. Yet my SO has said that leggings can be worn under denim pants for warmth. I might consider that.

Yes I so often wear a pantyhose under my jeans in winter. Too hot for that in summer

OMG, fall/winter fashions are my favorite! Tights! Sweater dresses! Boots! Scarves! Cute jackets! :-) :-) :-)

I pretty much always underdress at work, that doesn't change. But I will wear pantyhose more often in the winter. 'Specially 'cause my office was apparently designed as a meat locker or something originally. Not too bad in the summer, but holy moley the winter is like ... cold!

The only thing that changes for me is that instead of shorts and skirts it's jeans. Everything else stays the same.

Fall and winter are my absolute favorite seasons. Not only is it easier to pass in winter clothing, it is so much more comfortable, and you dont have to peel of a bunch of sweaty clothes at the end of an outing

No change to dress habits, just warmer clothes.

Tights and skirts in winter, Capri's and top in summer.

Winter means that I can under dress more often.

If anything, I'm less afraid to go out in a blouse and forms because they're hidden under a poofy coat. I'm also more likely to wear hosiery under my work slacks to keep the legs warm. I have some cardigans that I can't wait to wear again while hanging out at home. I'll probably change the nail polish I wear to less "summer" colors.

Only the addition of tights, and warmer clothing.

I tried underdressing because so many seem to recommend it. I went out several times during the late fall and winter months wearing under my sweatshirt a bra, camisole, panty and pantyhose. I did not feel feminine, sexy or whatever. I did find I either forgot I had on the clothes or some off it bunched up. And, if you have to use a restroom pulling down pantyhose is bothersome. So, I ditched the underdressing. I have worn support pantyhose on occasion because of my diabetic legs. I found the support hose to be medically helpful. I really prefer wearing a dress, hosiery and heels, and, slip, panty and bra rather than go out piecemeal.

I wear pantyhose every day in the summer even though they're warm. In winter I often swap them out for tights, which are even warmer. Especially the patterned ones.

But the best thing about winter is long coats. I think that a long winter coat can look really classy.

My girly wardrobe changes the same as a GG's does in Winter. More pants, longer, warmer skirts, sweaters, jackets, boots, tights... More new ways to enjoy being girly!

Oh yeh! When the shorts go so does the hair on my legs. Pantyhose almost everyday and I wear wool tights under my work jeans.

I dress much more in the winter than summer because I can achieve a better look with winter clothes/fashions than I can in the summer!

I love leggings/boots, opaque tights and of course pantyhose with my collection of skirts/tops, dresses and my beloved high heels!

Summer fashions are more bare legs, shorts, halter tops and flats and I have troubles with that... I do suffer thru the heat with pantyhose still as I don't shave my legs and keep with dresses and skirts.

Most always underdress in winter.
Lived in Aspen Co. For 6 years. Mostly enfemme, but ALWAYS had my season ski pass as Jacqui.
Unfortunately for some of us "rebinesque" girls, it's awfully hard to underdress wearing a tank top and shorts, went to local public hot springs pool a few times ( o.k. It was dark) one piece ,skirted (mastectomy) swimsuit, but a nice ski parka works better for me.

I wear tights under my jeans in the winter when working outside to keep my legs warmer. That is about the only thing extra I wear. Other than panties.

Tights and support pantyhose are much more part of my winter clothing. Both for the warmth and the support, especially if I know I'm going to be on my feet and outdoors.
Also I can wear some of my nicer tops under a sweater or a fleece top.

Habits don't change, only the clothes.
I always have a bra and panties but the rest depends on the season and most of it is feminine or uni.

My habits change. Underdress most of the winter plus brake out the ladies underarmer which if seen looks like men's, only softer.

When I underdress in summer, I usually wear a regular girdle, with panties, gartered stockings, no bra. I enjoy the colder months, as I can start wearing my corselettes underneath. Feeling the bra straps is very comforting to me when I underdress.

I wear women's panties almost exclusively, I no longer think of it as "underdressing". They are just underwear at this point. I don't wear a bra in male mode.

As most women do, I wear warmer women's clothes when the weather turns cold. In my mind, colder weather is better for crossdressing because I can wear panty hose or tights to cover my leg hair and long sleeves to cover my arm hair.

I dont dress under my clothes...i just still crossdress....difference is in the winter I have more confidence to take risks in where I go in NYC , your bundled in layers, its cold, people are not really checking you out....its just easier to move around than the summer saftey wise....

I love cold weather and winter, especially when it comes to CDing. I don't dress too much but I get warm very easily, so when it is +30 outside I am sweating profusely and I start staining my clothes with sweat. On the other hand, when it is cold I stay nice and dry, love it !

Funnily I enjoy dressing more in the Autumn/ Winter cause you can pass more esaily cause I'll wear longer coats, gloves and if its raining I'd use an umbrella. Also the colder weather people are more likely to be concentrating on keeping themselves warmer and paying less attention around them.

I retreat south. I'm a reverse snow bird. I go north in the summer off and on and end up there sometimes in the winter. I underdress all the time so nothings different except I wear cute women's jackets.

No change for me. I no longer own any undergarments designed for men, and my legs are shaved all the time now. The arrangement with my wife is that the limit for me right now is strictly undergarments, shaved legs and armpits, clear nail polish with my mani/pedis, and the feminine eyebrows. Out of respect for her, and the goal of taking baby steps with her this time to further levels of acceptance to come on her time, I honor this arrangement most of the time. Her biggest fears are that the kids will catch me, or she'll actually see me dressed, which she's not ready for. If I know I'm home alone for a few hours, or the rare travel for work, I'll slip into a dress, but not 100% dressed.

We've just come out of a fairly cold winter here, I'd been stocking under my pants to keep warm and also wearing a clearly female long sleeve t shirt under my work shirt.
No comments about the t shirt but I did say a few times that yes it was a girls one, adding that they fit better and tighter to keep warmer with out needing to wear a thick jumper all day.

Such a great idea, seasons - that means more clothes shopping! She is going to give me a budget! I'm fortunate to have a wife that is great with my dressing, she even buys outfits for me and occasionally she wants to borrow my things. Plus she is forgiving when i hang her things in my closet. In a normal month I will have multiple days to dress and have her come home and review my look. I always wear panties but not much under dressing occurs because she is so accepting.

I wear panties or shapewear all year, so that doesn't change. I sometimes add tights or pantyhose in the winter. When doing errands in the winter, I will sometimes wear a bra and forms under bib overalls. With a black turtleneck, black overalls and a black jacket, it really isn't that noticeable.

A technicality but is it really crossdressing when hidden?

Pat

Yes, IMO crossdressing talks about dressing not display. So if you're dressed in women's underwear beneath your three-piece Brooks Brothers suit you are still crossdressing.

Love the changing of the seasons, and I do have wardrobes for each, but winter does allow me to underdress more without being noticed. Its a time to break out the tights and hose, plus I can wear my bras and sports bras nearly every day without a problem. Long winter coats and sweat shirts allow me to wear my girl jeans without being noticed. Its also an easy time for me to keep my toes painted, legs shaved, etc. Yes, winter is awesome!

I couldn't resist buying a cute fleece vest with asymmetrical zip.

That'll get used for the one month winter is a thing here! I intend to try to incorporate it into my everyday wear. Its just fem enough to take the edge off, but not enough to cross any lines in male mode.

I hope...

Womens jackets are terrific. They can run the gamut from being basically a men's jacket that closes right over left, to being incredibly and totally feminine and a a spectrum of choices in between. Women's coats and jackets are fun because men's clothing as well. Winter clothing hides a multitude of sins.

One of the first times I went in public was wearing my friend's sister ski outfit. It was embarrassing and scary and fun all at the same time.

Around the house its dragging the floor wide leg lounge pants or heavy weight capris, leggings, tights or stockings & suspender belt. Outside HW capris or lowrise denim jeans, its usually too windy to wear any of skirts I have and my skorts are way too short for winter, I could sew in quarters every few inches so it doesn't blow up but its easier to avoid wearing them.

OMG STOCKINGS.

I am NOT a fan of the cold weather at all, but the one thing that I do love about the winter is being able to put on a sweater and wear some warm, comfy stockings on my feet. Plus wearing heavy clothing allows me to shave completely without being asked about it.

Try these. All are OK out in public in either "boy" or “girl” mode. Items that would usually be identified as feminine clothes, particularly those that have “tell-tale” signs such as adjustors, straps, and clasps on a bra, are more of a challenge in summer, and winter does make it easier to “hide” them. However, when there is no reaction from either men or women that invites one to wear only womenswear year around. I have found these items acceptable; they are readily available and, in fact, are mass-market items in the women’s department.

!) Slacks: Women’s pull on pants are much easier to put on than men’s belted pants. They do not need a fake fly, as the absence of it is usually not apparent, but I prefer non-figured and solid color, non-pastel pants so they are not readily identified as women’s clothing.

2) Panties: Underwear with a fly is unnecessary with womens pull-on pants. Although there are no-fly briefs in the men’s department, women’s full-cut briefs work just as well, and are often cheaper.

3) Slips: Shirttails tend to readily pull out of pull on pants. This can expose panty and pantyhose tops. A “solution” is to wear a full slip that is short enough to be worn with slacks. Also slips are usually made of material that makes it easier to pull on and straighten pants.

4) Bra: Although wearing a bra in public in “boy” mode can make one nervous and it can be a challenge to “hide” it, wearing a bra can be practical in “boy’ mode to keep non-adjustable straps on a slip from falling off the shoulders.

5) Nylons: Although wearing them in public can also make one nervous, an MD suggested that I wear pantyhose to avoid the indentation in my lower legs that mid-calf or knee-high socks make. Pantyhose do not require anything that is not also needed with women’s pull-on pants. Opaque ones are best, as they aren't readily identified as women's hosiery, but that isn't necessary and sheer nylons are OK and are more available. I actually prefer thigh highs as they are easier to put on than pantyhose, they do not need to be lowered to go to the bathroom, and only one leg needs to be thrown out when a run becomes apparent.

Yes its easy in winter to hide stuff. I had funny incidence today I was wearing bra and hip padded panties to look my butts more fem. I was in boy mode and I had jacket to hide the bra straps. The problem started when in the afternoon the weather became little warmer but without any thoughts I removed my jacket. I am sure people noticed my bra straps. I did not wanted to do that but I was feeling so hot inside the jacket. But I learned if you dont care then nobody cares what you are wearing ...

I normally underdress with just panties and the occasional garterbelt. but now, I can wear the whole outfit with a bra and sometimes even forms. my girly jeans can even be unnoticed if my jacket hangs over the pockets.

Yes, wearing women's clothes soon becomes normal and it's easy to "forget"
that you're wearing feminine clothes, so one must be careful not to publically display women's lingerie (particularily a bra or lacey slip) in "boy" mode.

Of course I change habits according to the season. In the winter, I like a black one like the superior mother in the Sound of Music. In the summer, I go for a white one like Sally Fields wore in the Flying Nun! ;)

Winter weather allowed me to go out fully dressed wearing jeans but no make-up today. I wore a winter weather coat to run to the store to pick up some items my wife needed for a get to gather tomorrow. When I got back my wife said your boobs are showing. I said I don't think so but she I can see two bulges with a valley between them. Finally I said "what ever" and walked off. If someone could tell I had a bra and breast forms I hope it gave them a thrill. I do that kind of thing a lot during the winter that I can't do during the summer.

I underdress year round, always have pantyhose on under my jeans and slacks, even in the summer.

The only difference the cooler months bring is that the pantyhose are on 24/7 rather than just during my working hours during the hot months. Yet another reason to prefer winter!

I find this thread quite interesting. I shave my legs and arms year round, and I prefer not to hide my nylon clad legs under slacks or jeans. I can wear whatever I please inside our home, but the wife will freak if I step outside looking femme. It's not uncommon for me (even in good weather) to leave my lingerie on after removing a skirt and blouse so I can leave the house to run errands etc. I prefer to wear skirts or dresses no matter the weather, but this thread has me thinking perhaps I should give the "jeans and a sweater" look a try in the cooler weather.

Looks like I'll need to shop for some tall girl jeans/slacks first though.

Don't like winter for work, but love it for dressing. Stay up stockings with a nice skirt and boots or even heels if it is not slippery. I wear skinny jeans year around because the stretch fabric is so much more comfortable and love winter as I can add turtleneck
sweaters. I went to dinner recently with a CD friend, who like me is closeted, and he asked if I had dressed lately. I was pleased to reply that I was wearing nothing that wasn't women's, from my small hoop earings down to my black suede flats. For those of us who could never pass winter provides a stealth CDing opportunity. I love it.

I have found that support pantyhose or thigh highs are cooler in summer than regulars. I have worn them in Las Vegas in August when most of the GGs had bare legs and were wearing shorts. (I like the look of nylons with shorts, but it's rarely seen.)
